    The OE size for RTR 180 is

    F : 90/90 17 TL
    R : 110/80 17 TL

    Looks like you have changed to a smaller sized tyre. The smaller tyre having a lesser external diameter which would change the gear ratios and it appears to give more acceleration and decrease top speed. In reality, the top speed and acceleration has not changed, it appears so only because of the change in diameter of tyre

      You mean to say when its showing 50 on the speedo now, its actually 53 of the previous state?

        Yes.

        The gear ratios have been changed with the change in tyre size to a slightly smaller one. The speed is caliberated with the original size of the bike tyre. When, on the original size of tyre, in one revolution, the bike moves "X" distance. With the smaller tyre, in one revolution, it moves a smaller distance than "X". Therefore, the higher apearing acceleration and decrease in top end speed.

            Not sure what you mean, but the speedo is caliberated as per original siz and any change in tyre size, whether increase or decrease will affect it.

              What i meant was that earlier it used to show a speedo indicated 53 at 4k rpm which meant a true speed of 49. Now its showing 50 on the speedo at 4k rpm and you are saying this 50 = earlier 53. But the true is speed is staying at 49. So hasnt the speedo error reduced now?

                hi guys, 22k kms doen onmy Zma and I am looking at changing the tyres next month.the major reason will be to ride in the himalayas in June.tubeless tryes will be prefered.I do not want to go anything beyound 110. 100-90 prefered.

                Michelins are out of my budget as the trip on the whole will be costing me a bomb.something economical and good.

                ZMR tyres- are they available now, if so how much do they cost?

                  if running on stock dont change now - hope it has more life left..
                  just change it like 2-3 weeks before the trip - and best option for Ladakh is Ceat Vertigo - tubless but 120. it wont be a overkill trust me.. and you will love it there.

                    Wont a Sirac 120' do the Job? Or is it because its a Tube tyre??

                    Any recommendations for the front? Currently running 100/80 front & 100/90 rear MRF Tubeless on the ZMR!

                      Sirac is always my option, would have suggested that. I used sirac for 25k. o yes its tubeless too
                      But Michelins are out of Steves budget now.

                      I am still looking for a front one. Btw M45 worked well for me with Sirac.

                        Well, even i wanted to change for that same trip, so any advice is welcome for both of us I'm looking out for Options, Ceat Vetrigo or Michelin Sirac for the rear (120) and Michelin M62 / any similar Dual Purpose tyre for Front.

                        And Why dont you try Michelin M62 for a change if you want to change the front of yours?

                            Uneven wear is likely to happen in any tyre which is not having a centre grooving.

                            It is not a defect.

                            Uneven wear typically comes out towards the end of tyre life typically after 17000 km.

                            It does not in any way hamper the performance on any parameter such as braking, cornering, grip or comfort.

                                Hey guys, I need some tyre info
                                I have P150 UG2
                                I need tubeless tyres, front and rear
                                I don't need soft compound, so R15 tyres go out of the window.
                                I don't wanna go beyond
                                Front : 90/90 R17
                                Rear : 110/90(or 80) R17

                                Most important is TUBELESS
                                No offroading ( if you don't count bad road in rural areas)

                                stock tubed
                                front : 2.75 R17
                                rear : 100/90 R17

                                As I see my options are limited to P220'styres but rear tyre is 120/80R17 which a bit wider than my needs.

                                Any tubeless tyres, in R17, by Dunlop, Continental, IRC, ceat etc?

                                I'm from Mumbai (Thane). So if possible suggest a shop too.
