    Case:

Well day before yesterday I met Michelin representative aka Mr Shekhar from Pune , he inspected the tyre ... His opinion was that puncture on sidewall of tyre is made intentionally by someone and its not the defect , hence I could not get tyre replacement under warranty , still he asked me to wait for one day to get second opinion from the company...

Today i got a call from him confirming the same as tyre cant be replaced u/w , but considering my special case and tyre is used for only 400 kms he gave me offer , i.e I'll get 25% off on new tyre purchase , so approx cost of new tyre comes to 1600 BUT I have to RETURN my previous tyre to avail the offer...

    This means i'll be paying 2600Rs(previous tyre) + 1600Rs (new tyre) = 4200 Rs for a Sirac !!!

I dont think its wise idea because i can get new MRF tyre for that 1600 bucks keeping Sirac with me !! Also i cant sell it to anyone , unless tht guy is willing to use it with tube ...

What should I do guys ?? Is there any resin or some kinda sealant tht can be used to repair the tyre ?? I dont have time and energy to go to consumer court

    • ^ See, a Sirac is a Tube Type tire, so I would say put in a tube and use it. No point letting an otherwise perfectly good tire go waste.

Or you could sell it to someone else as a tube type and get yourself a Zapper.

AH, nice thought. I wonder if we have something like that. I have one car tyre with the same problem!

Sirac is a Tube Type Tyre. Please use it with the tube for best result. Try using it for a week, and I am sure you will not have any issues at all.

          • I got Michellin M35 installed in front for my ZMA.. Feels good, but wont feel a great difference until I change my rear tyre (MRF Meteor). The threads are only 10% left as told my the Tyre Mech.. Got it changed from Sign Tyres, Sion.
In next few days will be changing the rear too. I inquired about the M45, but the mechanic said, the size is lesser than the stock one. So am confused now. Was thinking of Sirac, but thought its a heavy tyre so wont the pickup/performance will go down by a bit. Any experience guys can suggest me please.
Yes, thanks to Mr. Gaurav as he recommended me the tyre..!
What are the options I can look for the rear tyre. I would prefer anywhere between 100-120 mm, considering no effects to performance.

Hope you are looking for a dual purpose tyre..
Sirac is the best option you have.. You can run them as tubeless too.. But again the heavy tyre will have its impact on performance, not much though..
You can try out CEAT Vertigo Sport.. They have 120/80 tubeless option.. Its lighter in weight and provide enough grip too.. CEAT for sure is VFM option..

              • @Rachit, if you can find a M45 3.75 or M45 4.0 then get them on.

Not a lot of options there for good tyres. Try if you can get the Zapper Y 100/80 (those of ZMR).

What is you ropinion on the Meteor?
We are finding it very good. Using it with a Tuff-Up tube inside Yes, we loose a little on flickability because it is not a round profile tyre but everything else seemed to be good. Need your opinion too to consider for next change

Ceat Vertigo Sport too is a good option bue we felt this Meteor was somehow better. Vertigo Sport comes in TL for 17" wheels but only tube type in 18".

I am considering on sirac. Even currently I have a bit heavy tyre but didnt notice any drop in the performance though. Will check out CEAT Vertigo too. Need to find places around Mumbai, where I can find them.

                  Hey thanks HydBiker..
Yes, I initially considered M45 only. But now the tyrewalla person said, it may be a lesser size than the stock ones. May be he meant referring the tyre what he has in stock. Just need a confirmation on this if it is equivalent or more the size of stock.

Infact, I want to put TT tyre preferably. As recently I faced a situation, where riding on the highway on the speeds above 90. I hit a stone & my rim was terrificly bent on a small portion. But I didnt find any effect while riding. I noticed it almost after 8-10 hours. Thanks to the tubes.

Meteor is seriously good. Yes its not a round typre tyre. But its excellent on hard & rough terrain. The moment I saw it, I made up my mind of putting it as was going to Leh. This tyre proved wonderfully in those terrains. Even a small nail will think twice before entering in the tyre due to its big blocks . However, the grip on the wet surface was not great. Now as my threads & groves are starting washing out, the grip on wet is extremely worst. At the moment, I really get scared when I see wet roads suddenly. Hence I want to change it desperately. So think about, on regular terrains, no problems with this tyre at all. Even on the corner it is superb. But once the threads start wearing out, you will notice a huge difference & quite less grip.

                    Dear Rachitkohli,

4.00 18 is equivalent to 100/90 18 size which is the OE rear size for Karizma. If the Dealer does not have it in stock, do let me know your city and I will help you out.

120/80 18 Sirac will be an upsize ofcourse and mudguard may need to be removed for Karizma.

                        Hi, Mr Gaurav..!
                        Thanks for the reply..!
OK, so if I have to put M45, it has to be 4.00 18. Thanks for the clarification.

yes, Sirac would be upsize. So will try not to go for it. I hope my decision doesnt changes once I go to the tyre shop.

Btw, am from Mumbai. I got my front M35 from Sign Tyres, Sion.

                        • New tyre

Guys, got a new rear tyre today for my Suzuki GS. I have opted for Ceat Vertigo Sport 100/90 at rs 1300 as I have to ride through lots of mud and slush during the rainy season. After riding on the new tyre I have felt less confident about its straight line rideability. I dont know if it is psychological or real. Any inputs guys? Raj.
