Pireli 100/80/17 i am also looking for the same thing,Is it a offroading tyre ?
Lucky you ! For me the problem arose cause I had 2 punctures too close to each other. It used to leak despite plugging them. Guess mine is a one off case.

Thanks for the heads up Binoy. Have PM-ed him. Waiting for his reply.

This could be a good alternative but we need to evaluate carefully!
Im not really sure man. threat2myself had mentioned that this is available in Cochin. Am heading home next weekend, so will check them out & post the details.

UPDATE: Called & checked with them, they are saying its the 100/80/17 M75 http://www.bits4motorbikes.co.uk/Tyr...html?TryeID=63 or http://www.pirelli.co.uk/web/catalog...V_MT75_STR.xml

        • Guys need urgent help from you.

I am going to Leh on a FZ. Where can I get rear tyre with studs? I am not able to get tyre other than the standard one.

I don't want a radial tyre like the standard fitment since its off roading capacity is quite limited.

          Thanks in advance.

Vishwas, Where is Leh?? Believe me, its just another place on the earth.

Of all the people who have been to Leh, I can bet that 75% have done it on their Stock bikes with stock fitment. Dont underestimate your bike and please dont get your self duped if someone suggests you to use Studs or snow spikes.

Go at ease, most of the track that you would ride would be as good as the roads or tracks we ride day in and day out.

            all cheers

            • When I say tyre with studs, it does not mean studs/snow tyres but means normal tyre like pulsar/HH. The radial tyres fitted on FZ loose traction quite easily while off roading.

Also I am not apprehensive about the ride itself but trying to minimize the potential headaches.

Secondly, I do not own it. I am borrowing this bike from a friend since my own bike (Ninja) is not suitable due to low ground clearance.

Are you sure youve done 40 k kms ? From the pictures you have uploaded (assuming them to be recent) the grooves look to be pretty deep even after all this use. Very impressive life.

My suggestion would be to retain the tyres if you feel that the grip is still good & if it is in good condition. I changed my P150 tyres at 25k cause the tyre was beginning to bald i.e. the grooves were getting less deep. But you dont seem to be facing that issue.

O.T- Instead of changing your tyres, maybe you need to change your odomoter. Must be faulty

I am dead sure. These pics were taken yesterday. Yes the tires look go on for another 10k kms but i doubt they have become hard and the side-walls grip is less. My ODOmeter is also fine as in these 6 yrs my Speedometer cable broke for first time last week.
Anyways if i have to change which tires i shoudl go for. not looking for any expensive tires.

                  • Did some checking up on prices for rear tyres here in Blore. Naveen tyres, Koramangala says no stock of the actual tyre & that I need to get in touch with the distributors. They have the 100/90/17 Pulsar tread for Rs 1750. But the guy there says it might wobble at high speeds (??!!).

Sai Iyengar, CMH Road has a 100/90 TVS 880 for Rs 2200, the MRF Zapper Y for Rs 2750 and a Dunlop tyre for Rs 1700. On enquiring about the grip from the MRFs he said its not great in the rain. No Pirellis. They say that even if we are ready to shell out Rs 3500 we wont get a MRF OEM tyre !

                    Any suggestions ?

40K.. that tyre looks better than my 5K and 2 months old zapper same pattern tyre

anyways.. 6K is bad enough for the tyre anyways.. due to weather it become hard and less sticky.. if it's not sticking to the road, better change it..

and are you using correct air pressure as per manual.
                      for my manual P150/ UG3/ 2008.
front 26; Rear 29 for single rider

                            • @Gaurav: What's the exact retail price for a 120/90-17 Sirac in Bangalore.

Can you shed some light on the compound? Seems to be really soft compound tyre, wore out in about 13K kms!
