So my suggestion would be to change the tyre. The generous amount of tread left on the sides will be doing you no service since they are hardly used.

At first glance the tyre seems to be in a good condition. But if you look closely, the middle of the tyre is actually worn out. That's the part that is in actual contact always with the road surface. So even if the side of the tyre still has a good bit of tread left them, because they are almost never in contact with the road surface, judging by the wear pattern, the tyre will skid because the middle tread is now non-existent. I think there is a term for this type of wear, "chicken strip wear" I think. It happens when the rider almost never leans his bike while riding. And, like you said, your father riding the bike explains it.Originally posted by kedar3223 View Post

Thanks for the reply guys.
Thanks. Wow never knew that there were markings to help gauge the tire wear. So by this measure my tyre has some life left . And what if the bike is not leaned much, how will these marking ever fade?Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View Postlooking at your tyre that is not reached the wear mark mentioned on pic.
My tyre is also in this same condition when i got changed to new one.
I changed tyre due to lack in grip from the beginning it self
But the thing is, even the new tyre has that weird bald center pattern MRF Tyres. And trust me, the problem with the tyre is not when your riding it in a straight line but when you attempt to lean it a bit. The rear doesn't hold its line and tends to slip. Also can anyone explain to me the use of this sort of pattern on a commuter bike tyre?Originally posted by maraque View PostAt first glance the tyre seems to be in a good condition. Anyways I think I'll for an upgrade. Will a 100 section tyre be an overkill? Zapper c, ceat vertigo sport, or anything else (~2k) ? rajaselvam_1987 if im not mistaken your using michelins right? But in their website it states that the tyre is available in only tube trim. So you use your tyre TL or with tube?
thanks

Air pressure-reg
Dear friends, I put 29 ps air in my cbz extreme 2011 for both rear and front as I drive solo always. When the bike was new there was no problem. But now(7750 kms on odo ) every day I am loosing 3 to4 ps on both tyres. looked for nails or any other materials poking ,found a small nail on the rear tyre , but it was at an angle and not long enough to hurt.
So wish to know what can be the reason and any body having similar problems with tubeless tyres? Can filling nitrogen solve the problem ?"work for cause n not for applause". "live life 2 express n not 2 impress" ."dont strive to make ur presences noticed, just make ur absence felt".

Check the mouth valve that maybe loose or damaged.

Get the puncture repaired from a puncture guy and fill air.Originally posted by ekm-biker View PostDear friends, I put 29 ps air in my cbz extreme 2011 for both rear and front as I drive solo always. 3.50*10 translates to about 89/100-10.Originally posted by hunkofgals View Posthey guys i own a dio
the stock tyre is 3.50/10
i purchased a 120-90/10 size and its tubeless ?
so im confused how will this tubeless tyre fit to the rim ?
and if i wanna put a tube
which size shall i buy ?
120/90 is an oversize..it will never fit the rim..you will have to change to a bigger rim i guess..1986 SUZUKI AX100R

The answer is NO. The michellin pilot sporty front tends to slip a lot and while riding if the rear slips it is kind of managable but if the front slips then u are in for a crash for sure. And if u are keeping the rear same then downsizing the front is not a good option at all. better to stick with 90-90-17 MRF ZAPPER FS which is the real VFM front tyre from mrf. have clocked more than 6k kms on it and only 1 thing AWSOMEOriginally posted by apacherenator View Posthey guys anyone using Michelin pilot sporty as their front tyre??
Planning to change my Apache's 90/90-17 front with 3.00*17 Michelin pilot sporty..any suggestions?.
. Be it stoppies or sandy roads, the tyre performs its duty really well. and at a cost of 1550 INR it is a steal. The second option would be a mrf zapper 80-90-17 the r15 v1 front tyre or better if u can get the 90-80-17 mrf the tyre on r15 v2.

I am already using a Zapper FS 90/90-17'' for the last 50,000 kmsOriginally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View PostThe answer is NO. The tread is still good and can easily go another 5-10k kms..
Just wanted to know if the Pilot sporty was as good as the Zapper FS in terms of grip..but from what you are saying, I will have to rethink my options..1986 SUZUKI AX100R
