  • like it or not ...,but after examining the all the released/leaked pics of New R15 like bike .. i can surely say its not R15 ... its R17 ...
there are couple of reasons :

    1. the old bike still in production
    2. this saturday i went to Showroom and there a new bikes are arrived from yamaha and there are lot of brand new R15 the showroom received [current model] and along with other bikes in a big Lorry.
    3. From the pics if u see closely it seems like R17 [can't justify it]
    4. any price deviation of the current R15 can cause loss for yamaha .. so its logical for them to launch new one R17 ..along with current R15

instead of r17 wouldn't it be wise to do a r25.
First think you are special then work towards proving it.

            Well, I don't think so.
            • If the price is increased, I'm sure people will be happy to pay extra for that rear section, since that was one part which was hated most by many.
            • If the price is decreased, It shouldn't matter much to Yamaha as they had not done any price cut since R15 was completely localized. They were still selling it at the initial cost which had few parts imported.

So I don't think these will cause any loss to Yamaha.

Oops! Sorry, I shouldn't have used to word "completely localized". But AFAIK, compared to the earlier models, there are many things that are localized in the current R15. Correct me if I'm wrong.

may be true .. but i don;t agree on Price part .. they won;t reduce the price .. at any phase .. there is a good reason for it ..

they already provided free stuffs worth more than 15K collectively for the owners of the bike .. so see they need more money

there are couple of reasons :

                          exactly..
even I feel the same, I think there will be 2 versions of R15 and the current model will be sold alongside the to be launched model. Though I'm thinking all this based on the fact that the new model would churn out 22ps.
Old model will have superior mileage.
New model will be a true blue performer.
I just hope that my hopes and dreams come out to be true.

                              • Hi,

This is my first post on this site. I have been following this site for almost a year now before finally deciding to join it.

Coming to the new R15's topic, I must say, it looks amazing. And as a few people said above, it does look like R17 to me as well...but I seriously hope that it's not R15...would love to see something bigger. At the same time, I don't think it will be R25 because then it would be a little too small for a 250cc bike compared to its rivals CBR and Ninja. R17 does seem possible considering the rumours of 22bhp.

OT: Am I the only one who's facing issues getting used to navigating this site? It's not easy to search something on this website. Or may be, because I am new to it....
