Saar...Aargee says something if it has been experienced, otherwise it will only be stated as a guess workOriginally posted by tibby View Post1500+ Kms!! Are you serious?
I lubed it three times from Chennai to Jaisalmer; once at Pune, once at Udaipur (includes a complete water wash & chain adjustment) & third at Jodhpur outskirts; and that too I was riding on water clogged potholes enroute Pune-Mumbai + several 100 kms in rain between Vellore-Pune & not to mention the creamy roads enroute Jodhpur-Jaisalmer junctions
Ofcourse, while coming, I'd over estimated & paying for it
HMSI engineers state that the chain should be lubed every 2K kms
that too with their lubricant that spills all over the number plate & alloy wheels. Fortunately Motul doesn't spill over.

Yes, less than Rs 500 for sure...atleast in Chennai.Originally posted by tibby View PostMotul chain spray is just INR 450 or INR 480 (not sure).

I pick up Tribocor from the Bajaj Probiking service centre where I regularly service my bike. They'd be selling the 3M sprays too in a few days!Originally posted by samschenker View PostDid you purchase the Tribocor lube from e-bay or they are available at stores in Bangalore?_________________________

Made in India. Rs.100/- for a can of 200 ml.Originally posted by aargee View PostMade in
SAE120 grade oil in spray form. Does not fling, stays on the chain, hardly sticky and keeps the chain neat, clean & shining. Try it, its available in most 2 wheeler spare stores.
In my experience, the only chains where wax (candle) works wonders are bag chains, jacket chains & trouser chains.
Try it on some of your chains on the above bags/garments. You will be amazed with the smoothness of their operation, after rubbing candle wax on them. They will stop jamming and ripping open from in between after applying candle wax on them. This applies on all metal, brass or plastic chains. Just sharing a little general info.

@aargee: Oops!! That sounds like a total disaster.
Did you use the product, or have you returned it?
No worries about the discussions man. We did learn a lot.
The thread topic is unchanged, so we can all still discuss about 'Motorcycle Chain Wax'.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Not sure if this is the right place but the search function could throw up only this thread.
I have two options with me:
1. Tricobor chain spray + lube
2. XX chain cleaner + yamalube chain lube
(Since I am not able to source Yamalube chain spray in Bangalore)
How appropriate is it to go for different brands for chain cleaning and lubing?Last edited by TeeJayy; 04-09-2012, 01:14 PM.

Re: Motorcycle Chain Wax
Dupont Teflon Chain Saver is available in Cart2India.com at Rs.1600. I purchased one and being used in my Pulsar 200NS which has o-ring chains right from its day one.
So far the chain looks dry without any dirt. Based on the wear pattern I guess the chain lubricant work good.
