Re: K&N Air Filter Queries and Doubts
OK so it has a fuel screw. You can tune it yourself.Originally posted by viper008 View Post@gyan_recl350 I think its a kehlin cv carb..
First warm the bike well, go for 2-3 kms of ride and warm up the engine well.
Now with the help of idle screw adjust the idle RPM to the RPM recommended for your bike(take help of tachometer)
Now turning the fuel screw clockwise would lean out the mixture (reduce fuel supply) and turning it anti-clockwise make the mixture rich. Turn the screw 1/4 to 1/2 turns clockwise (close the screw) and see if engine RPM falls or rise:
a. If it falls.
Then start turning the screw anti-clockwise (open the screw) by 1/4 turns slowly and the RPM should rise. Keep turning until the RPM stops to rise. You should reach a point after which RPM would not rise and should become constant and if you open any further the RPM would fall. Stop at this point.
b. If it rises.
Then keep turning clockwise until you reach a point just after which the RPM starts to fall. Stop at this point.
This is the correct number of turns for the fuel screw depending upon if your fuel screw turns happen to be at position mentioned in point a OR B.
Now take long ride, if possible push the bike till WOT and see if it runs smooth and there is no flat spot, or missing or misfiring. If misfiring, flat spot etc are still there then probably time to re-jet the carb as you have gone for a less restrictive air-filter and fuel screw is not enough to get the A/F mixture right.

Any free flow filter will benefit an engine with a restricted stock intake irrespective of its engine cc.Originally posted by abhiwltya View PostWell for engines less than 180 cc, the difference ia majorly in sound and not so much in performance

Re: K&N Air Filter Queries and Doubts
Hey guys I want to install a K&N Air Filter or any other brands of performance air filters on my Honda Dio 2012. Is equipping this mod advisable?
I don't want very loud sound like those stunt tuned Dios. I want swifter acceleration.
Is it worth the money?
Is it worth the installation?.
Regards.

A safer mod would be trying out various springs or rollers weights ... but getting them in India is a challenge - you need to scout ebay/amazon us or uk websites for these.

Re: K&N Air Filter Queries and Doubts
1. You say 'missing' problem is because it sucks more air.Originally posted by Moh.sHaY View PostSome air filter's aren't good for bike. You having missing problem coz it sucks in more air. Remove the filter and if goes normal then the problem is…. U see
2. Then you ask him to remove the air filter , Can you tell me what happens when you remove the filter ? Does it suck less air ?!
I think when the filter is removed it sucks in MORE air - so according to the first statement you made.. this should cause more 'missing' problems.

Where have you fitted the filter, in the air box or directly on the carb?Originally posted by viper008 View Postgyan_recl350 sorry for the late bro..I have tried each and every step you mentioned but the problem is still there, I even should my carb to some local mecs bt even they could not rectify it..
