Hello guys,
I want to use a high flow air filter for my apache rtr 160. Which filter is good? And I don't want to replace the stock air box. Which performance filter comes in a cylindrical shape. Because the apache has a cylindrical sponge air filter which sits in a cylindrical cage type mesh. So which air filter is good?

Is there any problem of using 2T oil for air filter oiling over the period?
If No, Can we use 2T oil as air filter oil on modern 4 stroke FI engines without probelm?

The oil in the air filter serves to trap particulate matter from the air. the oil doesn't actually get inside the engine, so 2T oil should be fine to be used there. Follow the word of caution from original post, Don't use excess oil

K&N filter cleaners are expensive (at least for my pocket). Here's how u do it in less than 20 bucks. Take half a bucket of water, mix any detergent sachet, put the k&N filter in it and leave it overnight. Following day, rinse the filter in clear water and expose it under sun to dry. Then buy a 2t oil packet and get hold of a syringe and slowly inject oil all over the filter. It's a tried and tested method and doesn't wrap the filter not one bit

One word of caution : do not overuse the oil.

Yes. But before warranty, the engine will go for a toss. Stay away from these!

Saw another guy in service centre add K&N for his RC 390 before first service.
Heard that it ll increase performance a bit & sounds awesome.

So decided to go for them.

Thanks for stopping me doing lame thing. I love to keep vehicles for a long time. And keep it in my garage for decades.

Go for the K&N stock replacement air filter BA2201. Don't alter the airbox or jetting in anyway.

Am having a pulsur 220f 2015 model and last day i used k/n RC 1060 power filter to my pulsur after my third service now am having one problem that ,before installing the filter my top speed was 120 -125 but now it is decreased as 106 -110km/hr and when i give the full throttle or full acceleration am getting a power decrease in my bike. after the speed of 106km/hr my bike speed is not going up it is giving a low perfomence. Is there any problem with my filter ?? i dint removed my filter box and also i dint tuned my bike for good milege but now it seems bad after inserting the power filter than the stock filter please help!!!

Hey pankaj... insatlling an air filter is not a great deal... in CBZ..
open up the air filter box.. and take out the stock filter,some thing like a sponge.. after u do it..
intall the k&n and then tighten up the screw..fix the air filter on the Hose pipe, and tighten up the screw.. and then remove the outer cover.. and install the outer panel..

And also..if u wondering the the top speed.. it wont increase mate..However.. the time that ur CBZ takes to reach 120 kmph reduces..
that's it..

Yes I know. But the ECU upgrade would have to wait for some kilometres as I don't have that much cash around right now.
I'm getting the filter because I'm getting it for a ridiculously cheap price and does seem to be in a decent condition.
And considering it has lifetime warranty, it sounds like a good deal, doesn't it?

you can give it a shot if you want. you would need to purchase the cleaning fluid and then the replenishing oil to make it worthy of usage again.

why would you want to buy a used air filter in first place ?
also as you are adding a FFE the ECU wont be able to compensate 100% for the gain and exhaust geometry change. you will get the sound you want but not 100% of the performance gain. if you want to use a FFE + performance air filter then also all a ECU remap else piggyback ECU to enjoy the gains else it will be nothing more than extra sound.

instead of K&N rather look for green , simota etc.


by modding anything hopefully you understand the reliability of the machine also reduces. and if you haven't purchased the exhaust yet then rethink on your decision. a single cylinder street bike with a FFE won't be any better than a loud dirt bike.
