I guess he hasn't heard of 'Rubbing compounds' first before everything. By paint protectant he means paint sealant I guess.

The detailing clay is very expensive, going by the price in online shops. So I guess I'll stick to polishing and waxing for now. Anyways, Thanks a lot.

Thanks a ton mate. I'm planning to try it out, shall take care not to ruin the clear coat.

If you've a marred paint, no amount of polishing will work; as a matter of fact, it's going to run it even further.

Edit - Whatever people said above about clay is true; 80 gm of clay isn't that expensive. Should cost you about Rs 500 & lasts for over, say, some 600 times application, used effectively, on your bike's tank, side shields, front forks, fairing (if you've), head & tail lamps.

            Hey guys!
I own the R15 Version 2.0 50th Anniversary Limited Edition pearl white.
I have always maintained it like a new born baby.Be it the engine or the body kit,i have always taken good care of it.And i must say that it is the best looking R15 in the city.Or was till,I had a crash last month, leaving huge scars on the front cowl near the headlight.I took it to a painter to get it coated, but,he made a blunder out of it.He over sprayed paint and clear coat on some body parts.
Does any one know how to remove spray paint over sprays on the bikes's tank and plastic fairing's factory clear coat? The over sprayed part has been on the dust and minute sand particles settled on the body and got dry, leaving a rough and coarse feel when I wipe my hand on it.
The body must not be damaged and the excess over spray must be removed till we reach the factory's clear coat shiny finish with out ripping off the clear coat or damaging the paint inside.
And restore the Black plastic parts (housing) which surround the handle bar and holds digital console,to its original black factory shine? It had over painted paint sprinkles, and the idiotic painter spread PU Thinner on it,smudging the sprinkles around and making the part look whitish. He even spread the thinner on the digital console and the front wind shield, leaving a milky hazy effect.

Now,how do i protect them from getting faded with time as they already lost their original shine just a little bit. ?

Yesterday evening,I also noticed the white sprinkles on the suspension and the hard to reach red mudguard beside it.I took mu bike to him,He again took the thinner and applied it on the suspension, which did clean the sprinkles off,but he also did the same over the mudguard. He also applied 3M soft rubbing compound paste on the area, leaving a dark, tinted shade along with tiny bubbles over it.
He the took the rubbing compound, applied it on the fairing and tank, and rubbed it with Harshly .HE again used the thinner. It did clear out the excessive clear coat overspray on the tank and a bit of dust on the fairing. He then applied 3M liquid polish all over the body and wiped it.
Later today morning,I noticed that the tank and the fairing too has tiny tiny bubbles all over them, leaving an uneven feel when i spread my hand over it.

If any one here knows any safe and effective techniques to get the originality back without compromising the safety of the factory shine and paint underneath, please revert as soon as possible.
Hoping i would get some help.
            Thank you.

I know you were probably furious and extremely pissed when you wrote the post, but know that we don't see what you can see. Without any pictures, it's nearly impossible to judge the damage (which certainly sounds extensive) and help you with suggestions.

Sirs, After going through this thread, I will be polishing and waxing my bike for the first time in coming days.

Before that, need help on this- My bike already has teflon coating which is coming off at places. I should get it removed completely before proceeding with polish and wax, right ?
And can I remove the Teflon coating myself ? How ?

                  Many Thanks

Yes, but, you don't really have teflon coat; it's only a clear coat that is getting peeled off now.

Quite tedious, though I haven't done it myself. One method that I've observed is to do high pressure water wash & the coat peels off.

But goahead & feel free to polish & wax.

Sir how to know if its teflon or clear coat ? Or do you mean to say that only a clear coat would have been done on the bike in the name of Teflon coating ?
What is the difference between the two. Please pardon my ignorance.

Ok so most probably its just a coat of polish and wax in the name of teflon coating . I dont know what was done on my bike since I did not get it done.
I will post a pic of the area where I think its coming off so please tell me what kind of coating is it or maybe there is not coating and scratches etc are on tank paint itself.

                          EDIT: PFB the pics -

I think its the clear coat thats coming off..
teflon coating.. Huhh !! I also paid some 650₹ when i bought my bike and they just used some polish and that was all..
you would need to get the tank repainted..
