Been using it for over 4+ years; good when used wherever it has to be used & not setting unrealistic expectations - http://www.greenzcarcare.com/motorcy...e/wd-40-400-ml

Wd40 is a must have for any garage or home. Lots of uses and works like a wonder.

Click on the below link to see its uses

And Greenz is also distributor of collinite in India now. Www.Bringing best.in , www.reflecton.in both source collinite products too.

Eagle one wadding is a very good option for diy and professionals alike to clean chrome and metal or brass or plated/coated surfaces. I have used that too and give five star ratings for the price and ease of usage and availability for eagle one never dull wadding.

I bought & used this weekend. Its mere waste if you have Collinite 850 Metal Polish as Weenol provides slightly more shine on chrome surface than Collinite 850. However, Collinite 850 removes rust to a greater extent than Weenol. May be the RED color Weenol does the same job as Collinite 850...just my assumption. Its a Made in Germany Product though.

No WD40 CANNOT be used for lubing chain. However, its a superb solvent to clean the chain to mint.

My faith has always been with Motul after using Rolon & Ti; Motul lasts solid 1400 Km on my CPR while the second best Rolon lasts about 1200 odd Km & Ti is worst of all.

See, there're several basics that you're missing; first of all the scratch on clear coat WILL NOT be visible. The one's visible are the ones that has damaged the paint. Then, wax can NEVER be used to correct paint defects, wax is only to protect the paint surface from dullness, fading & getting reacted to external elements. I don't know anything about fillers, but, in your case, just to correct the paint defect, I would suggest you taking it to a detailer & get that scratch fixed.

Zorrik88 / WD 40 are penetrating oils and not a good chain lube a.f.a.i.k, Try Motul, Rolon, Wurth, and Tribhor and of course, there are many many chainlubes available in the market, of the lot of products that I have tried , My personal favourite is the MucOff Chain Lube, its Dry PTFE based, Its pricey but last for a really long periods and reduces Chain Noise to a large extent. Gtechniq P1 is not a filler heavy polish and is very expensice, Similiar abrasives like Meguiars Ultimate Polish and ScratchX are filler heavy and can cover up most water spots and superficial scratches and these products can be used by hand with some elbow grease and the scratches seem do disappear and you can cover these hidden imperfections using a hard wax or a sealant.

Detailing Steel Wool used along with Wenol Red/Blue or Collinite 850 or Klasse AIO or Gtechniq Metal Polish or Mothers Aluminium and Mag Polish can give good results and you can further protect the finish by using Coatings or waxes that are available in the market now.

Ps: Coatings require technique and knowledge to a good extent as its very tricky. PM me for any doubts, I will be glad to help.

Well, the problem with filler heavy polishes is that, the filler might not stay for long and after few washes it may come out, also the sealants might not bond if you are planning to use any silica-based sealants.

These days many polish manufactures like Scholl concept, Menzerna are claiming that their products contain no fillers :-)

Menzerna and scholls? No they are not filler heavy polishes. They are DAT abrasives and they are professional products with no fillers.

Your post about filler heavy polish is correct but that's one diy method to conceal some imperfections at 'home'. Else get in touch with a professional detailer and get a paint correction treatment and enjoy sealants or coatings or wax which ever u like.

My question might sound silly :-P
Can the paint used on walls be used for painting alloys? Can the same labour do the job?

No! Emulsion & Distemper are water soluble paint material that cannot stick on alloy wheels that are made up of metals such as Al & Mg. Since the primer used on walls are also water based solvents, even the primer will not stick to the metal surface.
