Finally managed to solve my problem of recording video while on the run - The on-board camera stuff. Here's a test video. It is the first video recorded by the cam just to find the perfect mounting position on the helmet and that's why didn't fix the camera properly. Next time will mount it properly to make the video clearer. Note: It's not a Gopro or any high end camera, it's just an ordinary cam. Hence the quality isn't great but I feel it's of acceptable quality.

Am not riding my bike much these days. Once back on track am planning to experiment with different positions of camera mounting especially on the back of the bike showing the rear view. Let's see. Till then here's the link..

              Decent video, Ketan!

I think the helmet is the best place to mount a camera. During my short trial with my GoPro which was fixed on the right RVM, I realized that all the bumps and shocks were affecting the video quality. Fixing it on the helmet takes care of the vibrations to a certain extent since the body acts as a shock dampener of sorts.

PS: It's been so long since we met up! Maybe we should do that soon!

looks like a pitch inspection video before a cricket match. however a good clear video without any wind noise. saw some legs there would love to see the faces though next time

What did you use to mount the camera ???

I had tried something with a bicycle seat clamp for a start and 1/4 screw but basic issue faced were
                      • Wind noise (For anybody one of the reasons is to hear the roar of the engine )
                      • Vibrations - Want to see the road upahead clear and not blur

GoPro pretty much eliminates both but cost is the main factor. There are mounts available as low as 1.2k but havent seen anybody use them with a standard point and shoot camera plus the wind noise issue will be there with a standard cam. Anybody thought of ideas to over come that issue in particular

Wind noise can be dealt around with a small foam tape on the mic

Thank you Buddy! Yes, I totally agree with you. Helmet is the place to mount the camera for shake-free clear videos. Am very eager to record videos while riding in the twisties of Western ghats, especially with biker riding in front of me in formation

PS: Yup.. it's been long since we last met up. Hope to see you soon! Till then ride safe! Ride Long!

@ all, Nice videos there. One of the Mumbai xBhpians has made a DIY tank camera mount. I am yet to see the video recorded using it. Let's see!

Can't wait to hit the road Tc guys! Keep sharing ideas..

Tried something on the same lines while recording exhaust note through a mp3 player but not satisfied with the results .... In a GoPro its almost crystal clear ....
