yup but i've looked at videos of competitive products (drift, contour) and apart from small differences, none are much better either. Bottom line is a small mountable cam like this can only do so much at night with todays tech, hopefully something better will come out soon.

Thanks bro. Had some goof ups initially, which you can see from 2:30 on that video. You can cl!ck on slider to watch that particular part directly.
It'll make you laugh! The bag was twisting, so sometimes my legs were captured, sometimes my head+helmet were captured.

About the key, well my Pulsar was installed with a Remote Alarm+Self Start system, so that means the key was in my pocket. Even a Policewoman was baffled when she stopped me for a challan and went for the keys.

Guys, about your Night shots: If you somehow manage to keep the camera on the helmet or the front visor (attach it securely, ok?) you can evade low exposure caused by the speedometer.

Secondly, you can use a 24mm (or low) lens camera, keep it in a bag/ pocket rather than the tank, this way, the speedometer would be minimal size, and hence it won't affect exposure much.

I will try some night ride-cam too. With my Nokia N8 though.

The issue faced is high exposure not low. I can mount the gopro wherever i like but the idea with these videos is to show the speedo clearly at all times while still viewing the road from the viewpoint of a tucked in rider. Most of the videos i do are fast runs and i'm not sitting upright and riding, i move around on the bike a lot. Mounting on helmet is easy but as the rider moves around the view changes and i dont want that. Not sure if you've seen it already but here is a video i shot with the gopro mounted on my helmet, it works but thats not the angle i want.

These are best viewed fullscreen and in HD

This is the angle i want

^ You have a point. Seeing the speedo is better. So, no camera comes with fixed exposure, is it? I think there's a small market for tiny fixed exposure video cameras for bikers, but it is there no doubt.

              Sorry for the OT:
Yes, but then it activates a "continuous download" problem if your computer is not registered with MS. I mean, it will start consuming network & downloading endlessly with no active apps, just like a Malware.
Trust me, it comes from personal experience of installing it, and a format thereafter.

First Test video of my fuel tank camera mount. Still one last modification is to be done. Will get it done today itself. Hopefully that'll reduce some more vibrations/shake. If it happens then well it's time for me to buy a new transparent wind screen. Fingers crossed! Here's the video -

                  I have done that!

YouTube - ‪Mobile used as Camera, mounted on crash guard‬‏
Hi Click on the above link, you should be able to make your own camera mount on your bike. I have mounted my Nokia 3110c phone on my bike using a cardboard box.

                  Simple Tips
                  1. Fit the camera mount/ holder on to any place in your bike that has less vibrations (I learnt this from my above post)
                  2. Try using card board box (with transparent tape to make it more stiff & water proof)
                  3. Use dampers (sponge/ foam)
                  4. Remove sim card from phone and have good amount of free space in your memory card
                  5. Design the box in such a way that there is an entry (also serves as exit) for the phone, so that you need not remove the box everytime
                  6. DO NOT FIX YOUR MOBILE HOLDER ON ANY MOVING PARTS Ex: Front forks/ mudguards, swing arms etc

                  Regards,

                  Anand

Thanks buddy. That mount set me back by Rs. 50/- + Nut bolt charges Glad that you liked it. Though it's not as shake free and clear as a go pro, it's at least usable. Shows the speedo readings correctly. But am afraid it'll become slightly more blur at higher RPMs. Am working on it but have little time at hand as I'll be leaving for Ladakh in next couple of days(Hopefully). You can meet me in Delhi to see the mount itself as we'll be staying in Delhi for a day or two

Got the clear visor fitted just now. Will record another video in the afternoon and post it. Let's see if there's any improvement after the slight modification.

This is my setup, but it is quite prone to vibration :/

Be careful with your device. Too much vibrations can cause some serious damage to the camera/phone. Is that a Kodak action/sports camera?
