    My Lx130 Gets V 8.0 Maps

Now, my 3.5 year old MMI Lx130 navigator has got the new version 8.0 maps. Yesterday, I bought 2-year map upgrade plan costing 1,750 comprising 4 map upgrades in 2 calendar years. Earlier, my Lx130 had v6.0, 6.1, 7.0 and 7.1 maps under the same plan. I got the link to download the map files immediately, which I downloaded and copied in my Lx130. Today, I received the licence files from MMI. But, when I loaded them in my navigator, it did not go beyond the opening menu. After a few telephonic calls with the support team of MMI, I downloaded the map files again today from the link given and reloaded them into my Lx130 with the licence files as suggested by the support team. Voila! It works perfectly alright now. It seemed there was some interruption during my yesterday's downloading resulting in a bug that created problem.

    New MMI v7.1 Maps

Just a few minutes back, I successfully updated the maps of my MapMyIndia Lx130 navigator to the new version 7.1. As usual, MapMyIndia did not bother to inform me of the latest version. I used to visit their website every now and then to know about the release of new version. Yesterday, I saw the new version of the maps here. Another thing I noticed was, when I logged in to my account, my registered device details were not there! I tried to re-register my device, but in vain. Immediately, I sent mail to the customer support of MapMyIndia raising these two issues. Today, I promptly received the upgraded map files and licence files in two separate mails. But, they conveniently kept quiet about the vanishing of my registered device details from my account! I downloaded the files, unzipped them and replaced the old ones with the new ones. I also copied and pasted my favourites from the previous version and pasted in the MapMyIndia folder of the new version so that I can have them in the new maps. Otherwise, the favourites folder in the new version will be empty.

Some of the features I noticed in the new version: NH numbers are prominently visible even in the route overview mode. English UK [in addition to English US] has been introduced in the languages option. Of course, more number of cities and PoI have been added.

Am looking for a rigid holder for my Mapmyindia device, I have the Car holder and have been using it for more than 2yrs, but with that am not able to mount on my bike its vibrating like mad, need something like the one available for Gramin which can be mounted on the handle bar

Have kept my charging unit in the tool box and have got the wire extended till the handle bar. I have it with a fuse & a switch for better control
