        Its surprising, u've got the wrong suggestions. World over K&N is used in dirt racing and all kinda terrain where the conditions are more punishing than your road scene. Do those engines get ruined? Race engines are more sensitive to dust and dirt. U just need to jet it right to avoid leaning the engine too much.

        @ - I'd suggest u use the stock plugs for optimum performance during all weather conditions. Or, if u insist just use the NGK CR8E. Will just help run ur engine a bit cooler.

                      @joel

                      the only reason which is keeping me away from using a K&N,

                      We fix the filter directly to the carb. Wat if water enters into it? And more over jetting it right is going to be a headache....u know trial and error method. and to be frank i dont know how to find the perfect jet size!

                      Any suggestions on this? Is it really worth the pain of doing this mod on the bike or is it better to leave it stock and have a peae of mind?

                        Yeah water might get into it... But if you think logically, if the water can get into your K&N, It can also get into your stock Air Box.
                        Theoretically, Air & Water are both fluids and if one can get into the filter, so can the other. So irrespective of K&N or Stock, It is the duty of the rider to maintain your filter dry.

                          I have used the K&N for a really long time. Its simpply not worth it. In our puny single-cylinder machines, u wont get any huge performance improvement. Moreover jetting it and tuning it is such a pain.... If u really fancy the sound, then go ahead!

                            I'm one of the first guys to start using the K&N. I've been using them since early 2004. I know what differnce it has made with the right jetting.
                            I have always only mounted the filter directly on the carb. I can vouch for the difference what a well jetted freeflow filter set-up can give.
                            My Fiero would not run without a freeflow filter, and the carb mounting were radical that I cant use a stock air box anyways.
                            Also I have seen differences close to 1bhp on my Fiero 200.
                            U can use it if u can make it work, else stick to stock.

                                I am guessing that these are breather pipes. And will not cause a problem as long as u leave them connected to the Air Box even if the Air Filter fits onto the Carb Directly.

                                I am not sure about this though. Can someone confirm?
