  • [xBhp Universal Thread]: Motorcycle Helmet Headsets..

Isnt it always bugging to miss calls, sometimes important ones while on the road making us itch forward and try to plug our headsets inside the helmets only to find them causing pain in the ears with the lid on. What is the solution??

First question: is it better to take calls while on the road?( obviously isnt but missing important calls sometimes becomes a headache, many WILL agree with me.)

Secondly: Whats the solution?? Is there any headset which snugly fits on any type of helmet, receives calls and plays music too??

Many of you, alongwith me must be looking out for such headsets and after a little bit of googling i found out a few. But problem is a few play music others dont. Performance racing store in Mumbai has one but I didnt like the quality. So if anyone Is using such a headset please write it down here so that we know where to buy it from and whats the cost at the same time alongwith your experience with the same..

Heres what I found: Interphone by Cellularline.

This is a neat thread , I always wanted a Bluetooth headset which would fit in my helmet snugly , I tried out the motorola ear band few of nokias mono headset but all of them were uncomfortable , finally settled for apples in ear headphones (corded) for my iPhone as it has a remote also by which a can attend/make calls & also juggle my playlist . The headphones supplied with the phone don't stay in my ear and keep moving .

                    Motorcycle Helmet Headsets..

3 of us been using the scala headsets for over a year now. Can really vouch for it taking rides to another level with real time discussions on cornering as we follow each other to bakar about where do stop for lunch.

Excellent range : approx 1.5km, great battery life : 12 hrs they are also amazing as safety devices since u can forewarn guys behind of wrong side vehicles etc etc

Called for them from US. Available here also but at 2X the price

Below is the link to what I'm using. Reviews say that performance is at par with the models from Scala with the Sena sets having a slight edge in the volume department. I am using it only to communicate with my pillion and it performs flawlessly. Over 100 KM/h though it becomes a bit difficult to hear since there is a lot of wind noise.

No such issue on scala even at 160

The reason is our helmets and not the intercom unit itself. There is too much wind noise over 100 KM/h, its pretty annoying. Sometimes I can hear the wind in my wife's helmet through the intercom Need to find a way to seal the gaps.

                            Vega Helmet Bluetooth Kit

Just got my Vega Helmet Bluetooth Kit from Performance Strokes in Goa. Costed me Rs. 2500.

My first impression: It is really worth the money I paid for it. Pairs seamlessly on my Samsung Wave II & till now has never mis-connected or has dis-connected without warning when on the move/use. With full charge it lasted me 1 week of fair usage as my work demands a lot of travelling (usage might vary depending on ones use).

The device isn't waterproof. Has also a feature of group talk with upto 3 devices & line of sight range of 500mts (will try this feature & get back)

I would say this is a very good device to buy. Im personally impressed.

Try putting the AGC to high. Improves sensitivity to outer noise and automatically adjusts volume accordingly.
