Polish ur bike once in a few months regularly. Ur bike will shine for years to come.

I used the Formula1 wax a couple of times, but I found it abrassive. So I switched to apna desi waxpol. It does an awesome job. I use sonax to wash and wax my car. totally satisfied with these.

      Hi guys,

I'd appreciate info on a center like Autoglym in bangalore..googled and only found it in Hyderabad...any other good alternatives should also do fine if they are good..

I hate the guys trying to convince you on Amway buy I love their automobile shampoo and polish. In my opinion - the best that I have ever come across.
I have tried Turtle wax, wax pol, F1 etc etc....but nothing to beat the Amway stuff.

Does anyone know what Glass Coating is all about....hear this is the new thing. sounds fancy...dont know what it does

Hii guys im totally new to polishing bikes . All these posts have made me more complicated . Service centre guys said they have done teflon coating on my bike. They said it will cost 500/- but as a discount they didnt charge me. It appears glossy now. Which one should i use? SONAX, WAXPOL, FORMULA 1. Someone please suggest in a way even a beginner like me can understand. It would be useful if you give their price as well .

Then I opted for sonax, its genuine , imported from Germany and is available at Shell bunks.

Its highly reliable and no feel of oilyness after polishing. Plus the shine does not feel like artificial.
The alupaste is the hardest wax available and covers up the visible scratches on chrome .

well after going through the enitre thread i really appreciated the above quotes the most

                    my questions are

1.where can i get the entire turtle kit for my hyper bike( wax, shampoo, plastic ,tyre polish etc ) in noida or south delhi and a rough cost also please

                    2. i heard something about some dupoint teflon coating being done in gurgaon which is supposed to be very good is the same option available in south delhi or noida and is it worth it or again just a sham

                    3. any other tip and tricks to maintain the black colour and keep it scratch free

                    4. anything better than turtle products which may be more effective for bikes with black color

                    5. Anything for disc breaks also

my bike is taken care of once in 2-3 days but sometime im out for weeks together currently the only protection for my bike is the cover im using

thanking you all in advance and looking forward to your responses

Actually in my case I found that waxpol actually caused the paint to fade over time. I used to waxpol my bike once a month and after a year or two the tank area was very dull. No shine at all.

I have the Formula1 Carnauba wax and have used it on my cars a couple of times. Found it waaaay better than waxpol and I feel the need to polish the car only once in 3 or 4 months or so. Also it does not let water to stay on the body of the vehicle so water spots are not a bother too.

Any idea where I can buy Turtle products? Need something good to retain the sheen on my Green Kwacker.

I can't help you with finding products in Delhi but I do have a few tips.

Turtle wax products are good but if you can't find them, try other brands such as Sonax, Meguiar's, etc. Sonax has an importer in Bangalore. Not sure about Meguiar's.

Teflon coating does not contain any teflon. Dupont themselves have issued a statement denying this and say that teflon is of no use in paint protection coatings.

                        But

Paint sealants, which are mistakenly known as teflon coatings in India can be of good quality. I don't know which brands are available here and if any of them are reputable. One of the more reliable and relatively affordable brands is Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Gives very good results and can hide fine scratches.

To maintain a good finish on the paint, don't touch it with your hands! Any dust on the paint will cause fine scratches that reduce the gloss of the paint. Never dry wipe paint if it's dusty. Always use a good shampoo when washing. Black paint is particularly sensitive to fine scratches that reduce gloss, so it needs extra care.

Do not apply wax on the brake discs. That will reduce the braking force! Just clean with soapy water.
