300V, its fully synthetic. If your machine has done reasonable mileage say 5k. You can try this. You can use 5w40 10w40 etc. Just don't cross the "w40" grade. Its kind of difficult to source in xw40 grade though. Most come in xw50 in the market.

My experience with CP1 was really good. On Newtown-Rajarhat Highway, my bike touched 100 and I have not noticed it until I looked into the speedo. As it was a new bike, only 1200kms done, I reduced the speed. Yes! very less vibes and super smooth acceleration. But on that day itself I found some weired sound coming out from the engine and I was pretty depressed. Though the SC guy confirmed that the sound was normal, but I found the engine little bit rough and the engine is heating up fast. I believe; less friction=less sound & less heat generation. So, it can be that CP1 is causing more friction in my engine. I drained it after 700kms.
Then I shifted back to Gulf. This oil gave me really smooth engine (less sound) but the acceleration was not smooth like CP1. The engine was producing less heat. I never touched 100 using that oil. Probably I accelerated till 80kmph on the same road. Yes, vibes was there.
Now I am with Patronas 5000. Today I touched 120 (on the speedo, may be wrong) on Rajarhat-Newtown Road and maintained the speed till DLF Stop. I found the engine was not overheated, engine rpm was steady, and the engine sound was normal. But the acceleration was not as good as CP1 but very much close to it. I am not comparing Semi Synthetic/Syn Blend oil with a FS Oil, instead I am telling you all that I am really happy with that oil.

It is around 200 bucks. I would suggest you to go get from Shell petrol bunk.

        • Bajaj SVC guys changed my engine oil without permission. On complaining,I was given a can and was told that this was my oil.Is there any way to find it if waht they gave me was indeed my oil ?

I use Motul 300V and after getting the bike back, the engine is like crying if i exceed 4.5K rpm. Also gear shifts seem like I'm pushing boulders with my feet.

Someone told me i can make out by the colour or i take some oil from a fresh can and the one that they have given me and see if they trickle down at the same speed.

          Any other way ?

The MRP is Rs.300. I got it from a distributor in J.P Nagar 6th phase for Rs.240. The grade is 10W-40. I do not know what is the recommended grade for GS150.

I am using VSX in my Fiero since the last two days. The pickup and refinement is very good with this oil. The gear shifts are also smooth. I find it better than Castrol Power 1. I intend to stay with VSX if it stays this way.

Dude its very hard to justify the oil is same brand which you gave or not. But its easy to fund that the oil they pour is new or old. You can justify it by its color.

But there have another way of testing oil, hence that would be expensive. But if you stick with same brand then you can use this tricks.

Buy a same new can of oil which you gave them to pour. Then take a color image print paper, any back side of printed photo would be ok. You need a paper which has a chard coating on it and it should be white color. And take a very little amount of oil from your engine by removing the dipstick. You can use syringe. So now you have two samples of oil, one is new pack contain and another has been taken from the engine. Now by using a dropper put same amount of oil drop on the back side of the photo. As the back side is white, instantly you can see the color difference. And the slightly put the photo vertically, slightly like 30digree. And after few hours the oil drop will flow toward down side. And if the both oil drop are same amount of oil, if the oil grades are same, and if the brand is same then surely the both flow exactly same distance.

Moreover you will be more determine by the changes of the oil, the previous position of the oil would be different, few oil can dry quickly, few spread more, few stick with something etc.

But if you have used the oil already over 150 to 200km then I think the oil already has changed its color.

              • Got a Castrol Power 1 pack and its MFG PKG date is almost a year old i.e. 03/09 so is there have any problem to use it? However its completely sealed pack.

One more thing, there have any way to know which one is a duplicate castrol oil without opening the pack? There have lots of duplicate casrol oil in market.

Few things that I know is:

                > Sealing and Hologram
                > MFG PKG date: recent date is good.
                > SI No. and Batch No. ( match the SI No. and Batch No. with the bottom and the cap. Both should be same )

After discussing with the shop keeper I came to know that the duplicate ones are supplied on the same original Castrol pack. People just use the same castrol original pack and fill with duplicate oils. And the pack sealing, hologram wont be prominent like the original one, it would be hazy.

Another thing I heard that Castrol has been stopped manufacturing Power 1 4t Racing. Is it true?

I am not very sure if you can get 15W40 or 5w40 in Semi Synthetic version but you get 5w40 in fully synthetic which costs 725rs a ltr & semi synthetic 15w50 costs 375 a ltr.

In Bangalore, head to cherry agencies next to Nandhini Hotel near Minerva circle for any Motul oil, Dunlop & TVS Tyres.
