          • Mobil Mineral

            hi all,
today was riding past a mobil specific dealership.
Looked at their range.. The synthetic was 850 bucks.
The mineral as shown here was 260 bucks.. As i am on a trial spree i took this one straight away. As this shop is quite far off from my place.
drained my 4k old shell ultra. (ax7 remains in the shelf till i drain this one).
The initial 25km report of mobil 20w40.
A basic oil, very light golden in color.. Havent seen an oil so clear.
The engine noise is back, same with engine roughness.
Did a mistake by going back to mineral.. My bike seems so rough with any mineral.. No fault of the engine oil.. I can compare this oil with performance of yamalube 20w40 mineral. A long term report is pending..
How to identify whether this oil is genuine? - look at the base of the bottle - if 'vipul' is written its genuine. All these multinationals are getting their bottles manufactured by vipul.. Have seen it on total quartz synthetic, total quartz mineral and now this.. And the performance of total quartz synthetic in my other vehicle proves that it was genuine.
Anyone else has used this mobil oil?

it depends on your experience with gulf. If you are happy with it, there is no need for you to change to 'any' other oil. For a karizma 15w50 is quite thick. But practically nothing happens and you can use it.. Will advice you to keep w50 grades for later(when your bike starts consuming oil).. There are good options available in w40 ss. If your bike is performing well with mineral no need for ss also.

Hi . The factory fill for your Kari is 10w30 mineral oil JASO MA and API SJ grade . By shifting to an 15w50 oil your bike will be able to cope with extremely high ambient temperatures like those encountered in dry deserts like the Sahara . In normal Indian plains the bike shall be slow to rev and accelerate slowly and lose some top end speed . No harm to the engine , you would not like it .

Nice ! I am not finding the 900ml bottles anywhere here , only 1 lit packs . I need 800ml only . The extra 200ml of oil is 50Rs going to waste every time .

Synthetic oils are very very slick(low friction) . Since you have been running the engine on synthetic since early on and for a long time it is not coping well with the degradation in lubrication with mineral oil . I often tell people not to shift down like this , bike will be ok ,you would not like it .

I dont recommend the Castrol iterations, from my personal experience.

If u want semi synthetic, u have Vavoline Champ 4T, Veedol Super Swift, Gulf Pride 4T , etc. These would be better than mineral based ones and cost a little more.

If u want to use a mineral, it s good if u stick to Honda's OEM oil itself.

Hi insanebiker, plz suggest me a better engine oil (semi synthetic) for my fz16.

i have the same engine.. What all i can say is that if you will use shell advance ultra or motul 300v, you will never like any other mineral oil.. Thats what I am experiencing. In ss, shell ax7 and motul 15w50 ss ( cant remember the name, may be 5100 something) are good.. after putting in any ss or fs oil after mineral.. Wait for 200-300 kms to observe its real benefit of smoothness etc.

I found only "Unique viscometric of MAK 4T NXT"
This seems to be a new marketing strategy-
Do not disclose the the best oil grade for indian Climatic conditions

What the hell is new technology ? Is Semi synth oil new technology ?(It may be new tech for Bharath petroleum)

I don't want to say any more without using it

just read the FAQ section on the website.
They are selling just '1' grade .. One size fits all type.. So guys this thread is coming to an end.. An oil which will work wonders in a 10w30 spec or a 20w40 or 20w50 spec.. Whether you are in kashmir in winters or jaisalmer in summers this is what you want..
I just cant contol my laughter.. Give it any bike above 125 cc and it will do wonders.. Amazing!!
Surprisingly, it can even be used on lower cc bikes!! So finally one oil which is jack of all traits!! Closing time for all other brands! :-)

Guys i am feeling relaxed, so will pinakiji.. Anyone asks which oil - just type mak 4t nxt.. Or rather copy it to clipboard and just press 'insert'. Lol

                              • ^^^ i think they strategically disclosed grade to grab market share why because on one end honda using 10w30 grade followed by tvs for their lower cc bikes and w40 for rtr series
and on another end bajaj uses 20w50 for upper cc and 20w40 for lower cc
so all in all they produce one product for all illness
could be nice if they have w30 w40 w50 but might be cost cutting measure

ps: as a petrol heads we always sneaks for proper grade to treat our babe
