Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10w50 (earlier 10w40) : Haven't tried the new one yet.Originally posted by sunilyo View Postany good 10W50 oils available in India. I see Motul 5100 is 10W50 (FS) but i dont see it on the website. any other good performing brand other than Motul please advise.
I want to change the oil on my Pulsar 200NS (3000 km old) - doesnt matter if it is Mineral, SS or FS.
Elf moto 4 XT Tech 10w50 : Decent oil, lasts upto 4000~5000kms. Used 2 bottles for Unicorn and 3 bottles for Fazer.

Re: Engine Oils
If I were you, would stick with mineral for atleast 10k kms before moving out from mineral. I thought the piston rings would bed in better with mineral oil for a new engine/cylinder kit. Not expecting many to agree with me but this is what I had followed for my bikes.Originally posted by sunilyo View Postany good 10W50 oils available in India. Elft Moto 4XT 10W50 Fully Synthetic oil is the one I am currently using in my SZ-R. My friend have used it for his Fazer and R15 v1. Results are pretty good I should say, smooth gear shifts and engine smoothness have increased by significant margin. I switched to it after 11000 kms on my SZ-R.Originally posted by sunilyo View Post

Thank you Muztariq for your reply. Will go for the 5100
I would say for you its too early to use Fully Synthetic oil, I would suggest you to use SS oil of preferably Motul.
Cheers!

Yes you are right about mineral oils helping in good setting in of a new engine.....Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostIf I were you, would stick with mineral for atleast 10k kms before moving out from mineral. via TapatalkThankyou all for your replies. I am not keen on going for a FS oil but i wanted to know the availability of 10W50 oil as that will be the right kind of oil for the cold temperatures in Delhi. Will try to get the Elf Moto 10W50 or else 5100 15W50 to hai hi.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostCastrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10w50 (earlier 10w40) : Haven't tried the new one yet.

Guys, my '08 P200 DTSi needs a clutchplate change after about 33000 kms on the odo.
What engine oil should I go for? Currently on Castrol Activ 20W-40. ASC manager has recommended Motul last time, but I'm keen to try out Shell. Have never used FS, is it needed and shuold I go for it? My usage is mostly city-riding in the tropical climes of MumbaiThe man who designed the Tower of Pisa was the First Biker ever...

I myself haven't used a FS Shell, but I've used the AX7 quite a lot of times, and it's an awesome performer. I'd suggest you you go for the 7100 if you're really keen on a FS oil from Motul. It is not steeply priced and it really is a good substitute for the 300v and cheaper!Originally posted by DeVille View PostGuys, my '08 P200 DTSi needs a clutchplate change after about 33000 kms on the odo.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Well I could have used AX7 if the recommended grade for my bike was XXw40. I require 15w or 20w50. And AFAIK XXw50 is unavailable in shell. Correct me if I'm wrong.Originally posted by psr View PostIn technical specification and use the Shell AX 7 Ultra FS is found to be superior to the Motul 300 V Factory line oil, and it is also cost effective.
Results..well, the bike runs super smooth. Can't really make out the bike runs on an SS oil; feels more like FS! And, the rev friendly nature has improved further, and as a result my riding style has changed. I find myself shifting at comparatively higher revs because the engine finds it much easier to climb up there. Another thing I noticed was that 300v (green liquid) forms an immiscible layer over the reddish 5100. Is this fine?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostGreat. Do let us know the results.
Cheers!

When it comes to motul FS, which is superior? 300v or 7100? And what are the drain intervals for the same?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI myself haven't used a FS Shell, but I've used the AX7 quite a lot of times, and it's an awesome performer. Yes that is completely normal. Regarding the drain interval, 300V has a close 3k KMS more than the 7100 though the 300V is very pricey at close to 1000 bucks a liter, it's well worth the buck, being a FS it is. But 7100 is the one suggested for even superbikesOriginally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostWell I could have used AX7 if the recommended grade for my bike was XXw40. I require 15w or 20w50. Thanks dude. What's the AX7priced at? Also if I had to compare a SS Shell wtih FS Motul, would the Motul get your vote?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI myself haven't used a FS Shell, but I've used the AX7 quite a lot of times, and it's an awesome performer.
