Use motul 5100 if you want to go for semi synthetic and motul 7100 if you want to go for fully synthetic. I have been using motul for the last 7 years and the performance has been good only

Thanks yashasvi. Have you faced any drop in engine oil level when you used motul 7100? Because previously I had used motul 300v on my unicorn and the engine oil level dropped drastically after 3000 kms which was never the case with honda genuine mineral oil. And how much kms can motul 7100 last?

I never observed any drastic reduction in oil level while using motul engine oils, i started with 5100 ,used to keep it for 2000 kms, then to 7100 and used to keep it for around 3000 kms and finally 300v which is use for 5000 kms.

Highly recommend the Mobil super moto 10w40 for the uni. Works better than ax7 or any Castrol.

Do so at your own discretion. There has been some extensive discussion about using Diesel vehicle engine oils for bikes. Go through it and make a decision.

Shiv's CBR thread is a huge source of information for the same. I'd suggest you check that too.

That's what i said in the last post. Use at your own discretion, while the high detergent values in those diesel engine oils help clean up the engine sludge usually, but it also have cases where the clutch slips and causes problems. So general trend is to change oil in shorter intervals, which while might be good for your engine in some respects but on the flip side thats a lot of oil waste that you need to dispose off carefully and responsibly.

P.S : This is again a skinny on the whole discussion which is of a broad spectrum. So do understand the risks and act accordingly.

                    Cheers

The recommended grade is 10W 50.

                          Thanks.
And will it be as straightforward as draining the bajaj oil and pouring the motul ? Or should i do an engine flush before changing oil brands ?

Just pour it, no such flushing is required, flush the engine every 30k kilometres interval.
