gulf already had a semi-synth oil (only) available in 10w30 grade, stating 10k kms change interval.

          • Yeah yeah , we all know that ( that is synthetic-blend, not semi-synthetic .. for 230 bucks).. but this is full synthetic for 300 bucks !! Or is it ?
This oil is so new that there is no information about it on the net or otherwise from users too . So I wanted to find if anyone on xbhp is using it already ... since you guys seem to devour all synthetics in the market and cause a shortage all the time .

ps @ honda-cbf .. don't quote the pics ... makes tedious to read the thread .

hi, thanks for the info.. But i can read rs 135 on the bottle even after rubbing my eyes.. Is it really 300 as you quote?

              • No , it's printed Rs 335.00 there ... (135 LOL) . The shopkeeper was ready to sell it for 300 when I bargained . Plus it has discount coupon inside , says "win Rs 25 to Rs 10000" in yellow on the label ... so a minimum Rs 25 off . Even I am tempted now .. still can keep to 2000km drain with synthetic .
The shop is ESS enterprise in Jadavpur , Kolkata ( besides KPC Hospital ) .

thats a very good find.. Alas mine will take 20w40 grade only.
As the price is similar to Shell ax7.. Most likely it would be a ss only..

But one thing is for sure.. This oil is not the 4t plus they sell.. On the JASO list this oil and 4t plus are coming separate.. And one more thing, the HMEOC oils are really quality oils as this spec stands for High Quality Motorcycle Engine Oil Conception for fuel saving!!

You are better off with 20w40 motul or gulf mineral drained every 2000kms anyway .. those are really fine oils for cheap and plentiful . The 10w30 guys were having little options yet .

Yes ,on first sight I too thought that it's semi-synthetic , because of the price . But it's clearly written "synthetic" on the pack , with the other usual word-play like "semi" " blend" " hydo-synth" etc not mentioned even once on the labels . And gulf's existing 10w30 & 20w40 oils are superb .. I have used both, this is surely a brand new product .. no doubt about that . SO this is gonna be good too , hopefully . Moreover 10w30 is a very low-range for for a synthetic motor oil .. it is difficult to make it badly anyway .The cheapest synthetic in this grade in the market here upto now was Honda's Honda Throttle 10w30 for Rs 504.00 800ml . The costliest was motul 300v double-ester 10w40 for around 950.00 Rs . Now motul shall have to come up with a competing product quickly too .
I have mailed gulf india for more info .
HMEOC High quality Motorcycle Engine Oil Conception is the new board managed by SAE Asia to ensure the newer generation lighter viscosity oils properly protect motorcycle engines, clutches, and gears , possibly Japanese and connected to JASO in some way .

Very good find Pinaki ji.Did you get that oil ?

Its unbelievable that a FS oil is available for such a low price.
If this oil can make gear shifts smooth just like a 20w40 and let the engine rev freely like a 10w30 then this oil is going to be a super hit.

                      http://www.jalos.or.jp/onfile/pdf/4T_EV_LIST.pdf,
Check out S.No 136,its mentioned there,so its a 100% genuine oil but gulf's marketing and websites are very poor and incomplete.

According to the list all the gulf pride 4t plus variants are made by Gulf oil corporation whereas this oil(pride synth 10w30 ) is made by gulf oil international.

FS oil at 300 bucks is really tempting i may use it (if I'm able to find one) for my next oil change

It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

the correct grade for pulsar is 20w50.. They are putting this in even on bikes which they sold with 20w40 recommendation.
Hence your friend is correct when he puts in motul 15w50 5100 oil. But this oil is costlier than a castrol.. Your oil change intervals remain same as this is not a fs oil. If you can afford it - go for it! Otherwise there is motul 3000 4t plus 15w50 and 20w50(whichever you are able to find) mineral oil which is cheaper.

Castrol is w40 so incorrect grade for you.

I must say, if the rider is happy with the oil, and the oil is correct grade then there is no reason for him to use costlier grades. In your case you are using wrong castrol grade. Otherwise i would have told you to continue with what you are happy with.
