Hello Guys, the 2nd serviceing of my bike is due....i would like information on semi-syn eng oil for my Karizma ZMR.

could you please tell me which is the best oil for zmr i should use (motul i have heard is good) but i am not sure which oil exactly or even if the change is a wiser one...

best semi synthetic oil for ZMR is shell ax7 10w40(which i have used). motul 5100 15w50 is good in pulsars but in ZMR it is not good, it makes the bike sluggish, the first thing you will notice is significant drop in pick-up. best option is that you stick with xxW40, weather it is summer or winter. i use shell advance AX7 10w40 in winter and in summer i use gulf pride 4T plus 20w40 mineral. will be looking for valvoline champ 4T 20w40 SS if i can find one in lucknow.

please can anybody give review on motul 10w30 i want to use it on my zma
and also one more question that as gulf 10w30 is jaso ma2 api sl certified and motul 10w30 is also jaso ma2 api sl certified so will they both be equal in terms of performance

me too thinks 10w30 (stock oil) won't be good. Stick with xxw40 (at least).
Btw, I bought same oil at 260rs/lit. You think there's so much price difference??

Check the mrp, for engine oil the margin for dealer is quiet higher. hence the price difference(same stocks).

Shell Dealers/Outlets - MUMBAI ONLY

Hi All,

I have been trying to spot the Shell Lubricant dealers / Shops so that I can get my Engine Oil changed. But So far no one in Navi Mumbai and Mulund area seems to deal with Shell. Anyone out here from Mumbai can help me with the same pls.


Also I wish to know that in a Geographical regions such as Mumbai is it advisable to use 10W-40? or should I just keep continuing with 20W-40, when the recommended oil is 20w-40? Also would it be preferable to choose Fully synthetic oil over Semi-Synthetic in a debatable way? Which one is better and why?

Also can someone having enough experiences with different oil types let me know the TOP THREE:

Also, how many liters should we buy for ZMR....and how many is idle for stocking...

Also, my odo reading is 2200...should i wait for somemore time before changing to shell SS..

You can change to SS, I don't think why you should not opt for SS from regular mineral oil!

ZMR needs 1.1l of engine oil if you are refilling after draining the oil. 1.35l is required when clutch is opened so you need 2 bottles of AX7 first time. pour one bottle and 100ml from 2nd bottle. next time buy only one bottle and use another 100ml from previous bottle.
WARNING: by any circumstances DO NOT POUR 1.35L OF OIL IF CLUTCH COVER IS NOT OPENED.

Dunno but motul 300v 5w40 would be better choice for ur karizma. around 700bucks/lr
