Crapstrol active 4t doesn't last much long, expect a decent performance for sedate riding conditions for about 1500kms, then it's start to deteriorate.

It's not to downgrade Castrol. I personally hated "Crapstrol" for the reasons Krish precisely mentioned. It just works for a few KMS and then it's as if the gearbox has gone bonkers. That being said, why don't you try AGIP and Shell, they are really tried and tested and lasted really long, especially the later one for me.

      Cheers!

Welcome to the bad, risky ,rewarding world of Experiments......when you get a hands on feel of Rimula R3X, you will like the oil soon .....esp., good gear shift, less engine heating, and less noisy engine....Please do record all your observations and share ..

For stressful use (severe service) these specified limits have to be suitably reduced .
Do not try to extend one(kms) or the other(months) - engine work is usually more expensive and trouble than oil changes . Personally I cut the manufacturer specified limits by a third - I shall not run any oil for more than 2000 kms or 4 months ( whichever comes earlier ) and touchwood I have not had any problems from doing that .

Scientists make oil ?? As far as I could find oil is made by mother nature only and we just mine it and separate it for various uses . If you meant that oils are separated from a different fraction of the crude mineral for each engine , then they'd have to put up a special oil-refinery for every model of engine in circulation . On the contrary , there are few things more generic in nature than automotive engine oils , and there are more categories of it made by marketing guys than any technical need .
Aren't we talking about fully synthetic oils here.?

That is self explainotry then . Get a better oil, Semi Synthetic or Synthetic is you can, you won't face that problem.

You are right. Castrol is not that great.
I have always observed, that castrol looses its smoothness in & around only 250-300 kms.
Trust me, i used it in the Run-in period of my Fz & i changed it only in 1000 kms I was feeling uneasy riding with it.
Later used once in my friend's 10,000 kms done fz & found that High revs are a pain with Castrol Activ, if feels like the engine is in 100 % strain.

Power-1 too is not that good.
Is Power-1 Semi synthetic??? I dont think so.
Engine becomes Harsh only in around 400 to 500 kms.
Riding on Power-1 for 2000 kms is a Real pain for me.
                        I never prefer Castrol oils.
Much better Oil than Power-1 is Valvoline 4T synthetic blend 20w-50.

                        • For starters, those who are using Castrol, I'd recommend using Castrol oils on gearless scooters, as they are pretty good for such an engine. If you guys really ride motorcycles, try Shell Agip and Mobil FS if you can source this.

                          Cheers!
