      • Hey guys, can anyone give me the list of genuine Veedol dealers in Bangalore? I'm thinking of pouring the Super Swift SS 10W40 in my RTR160...

        • Gulf pride 4T plus 20W50 is out guys,i bought it a few days back and currently it's in my ride and it sure looks to be good.Their site hasn't updated it just like most others,so checked around the JASO site's pdf and found it there.I guess it's been approved from a while now.At least for me, this was the first sighting and MRP is 291 but got it for 250 bucks.

Do post your reviews without fail. SS or FS or Mineral?

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            • Mineral and it's color is also red as mentioned in the data sheet of their 20w40 variant.Got this filled after a clutch plate change job,so in that sense it certainly feels better, but in comparison to the gulf pride 4t 20w50,which i had used previously(gulf product that is),this feels a bit slicker in comparison.Yes i'll remember to write about it, after i've done 1k on the speedo with it.

Here is a link to the Gulf Pride 20w50 oil...read the PDS and the MSDS at the bottom of the page...The ZDDP level is <1%...and Viscosity index in also low meaning greater thickness difference from hot to cold condition...try to select an oil with Viscosity Index above 130....

This oil was a stop-gap oil while getting the oil-cooler installation sorted out.

Nice. Forgive me for the OT, do you have a separate thread for the OC upgrade. I've been hearing tales of people revamping their Fieros, Apaches, if you have a thread, please PM me your link. Again forgive me for the OT.

That's a nice idea experimenting on the stopgap technique on a previously greenfield.

                    Cheers!

No bro,i haven't created a thread for this upgrade, because most of the time such threads end up becoming war-zones with the pro modification group and pro stock groups. In bangalore there are some very technical guys with regard to fiero/apache engine platforms, who are in touch with the factory racing teams.A example is Mr Murthy of formerly famous ZEN TVS.So these guys have done lot of things like V-twin(which incidentally is the first such in india) fiero ,which you can google and find out as to how another engineer associated with ZEN TVS's Mr Murthy designed and fabricated. Then they have also designed and fabricated superchargers for the fiero and successfully ran it as well.So i got this idea of oil cooler installation from them. This is a provision which has been designed by engineers at the design stage of the fiero engine platform itself, which is suzuki. So i went ahead and got it installed on my bike, while keeping in mind oil pressure etc.So it was not my brainchild. The pics in my album are not up to date, the pic there only shows a in between stage of the set up.Now the oil cooler's outlet has been given to the provision made by the engine designers, which is situated at the crank case.

Ps: The credit for the v-twin and supercharger goes to Mr Venugopal a independent engineer, friend of Mr Murthy who worked on the bikes of ZEN TVS

                      • I have seen a Gulf Pride 4T plus 1 Litre oil packs yesterday at one of a store.
Grade was 20W-40, Black coloured cans, Dhoni's photo on it.
                        Rs.270/- Per Litre.
The thing which astonished me was that on the can it was written "GOES UP TO 10,000 KMS"
What is that?? Are they fooling people???
How can a mineral oil last that long???

Yea, thanks buddy. It definitely leads to OT, :headbang: BTW excellent going there, any idea teh V twin can be get done by commoners? Sorry for the OT, I just couldn't help

@Touseef, Minerals are good for 2 to 3k personally. Even Bajaj Oil says 10,000 but it doesn't even come close to it's half life. Personally I believe 3k is good unless you're in some stopgap situation.

But why they write as 10,000 kms?? That too on a mineral oil can.
Strange. If one rides 10,000 on that oil, his engine will be messed completely.
