Re: Engine Oils
OK, there seems to be some confusion. When I click on the "Indian" website, it automatically re-directs to motul.c0m/00/en/products/ . Apparently, the website detects the location based on the I.P address. I am still figuring out a way to open Indian website. I am sorry if my previous post was rude in anyway.Originally posted by muztariq View PostSee buddy, the link that you have sent contains these words
http://www.motul.com/00/en/products/...%5Brange%5D=21
It is something like motul.c0m/00/en/products/.......
But when we are(read I am) clicking this link, the website that is opening is http://www.motul.com/in/en/products
Please search on this 'Indian' website and tell me where is Motul 3000 4T 10W40
Just to help you out on your search, here are the two keywords I searched on the Indian site and see the results for yourself

Re: Engine Oils
I have been using Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W-30 engine oil in my Honda Stunner for past two refills. Is it a synthetic or a mineral oil ??
Due to relatively better roads in Delhi I commute at around 60 Kmph. My concern is to only confirm if this Castrol is good enough to ensure longevity of the engine life as per the riding needs. In case you suggest me for a change in brand/grade of oil, kindly put up a few reasons to answer "why ?".

Castrol Power ! is a synthetic oil AFAIK
Alternative oil brands would be Motul SS or FS(any models) or Shell Advance. Loads of good reviews here to back the claim, search this thread for more.

Re: Engine Oils
If you must use Castrol Power1, I would suggest the 10W40 version. Would ensure a smoother ride and its better than using 10W30. But if I was you, I'd opt for either Motul, Veedol or Shell in that order of preference. All in 10W40 Semi-Synthetic avtaar. These would be good for about 5000 km in your driving styleOriginally posted by xpranav View PostI have been using Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W-30 engine oil in my Honda Stunner for past two refills. Re: Engine Oils
To not void the bike warranty. You have to fill in the company recommended oil (if that is mentioned in the manual). 80kph?? Thats higher. Read the manual to understand your break in procedure.Originally posted by ajay1919 View PostI hv recently got new Hero Hunk 150 cc.

In 10W40 - the range of temp for good viscosity is 10 to 40 deg C (Please make me correct if I am wrong), so looking at the extreme weather conditions in Delhi you are suggesting a 10W40 over a 10W30. ok ok............... I guess it will ask for some extra bucks then. BTW, that castrol was suggested a replacement at 4k kms.Originally posted by pixantz View PostIf you must use Castrol Power1, I would suggest the 10W40 version. You advice is admired hereby, but allow me to seek just a few clarifications out of my curiosity:Originally posted by pixantz View PostBut if I was you, I'd opt for either Motul, Veedol or Shell in that order of preference. 1. Why Semi-synthetic ? when synthetic is said to be superior ?
2. Please give a brief update to me upon what advantages do I gain by switching over to MOTUL ?

Re: Engine Oils
Ans1: Yes, 100% synthetic is a superior oil and its formulated to take care of the newer superior engines which may have bigger capacity/ higher revving/ hotter working conditions/racing environment etc kind of higher stress situations like those of Supersports or Superbikes. Basically it can protect in more extreme conditions for longer. Hope you get the picture. Now your stunner doesn't actually need that kind of lubricant. Semi-synthetic is just about the right kind of premium protection you need and its any day better than mineral. I don't think it would really harm your bike if used and you can go ahead if you like. In fact it will give you a much more smoother ride maybe. By the way, Synthetic costs roughly twice the same type in Semi-synthetic. So thats what you might want to consider too. Like, say if you wanna get Motul Semisynthetic 5100 10W40, it would be roughly around 550/- and Fully Synthetic 7100 10W40 would put you back by about 1000/-Originally posted by xpranav View Postallow me to seek just a few clarifications out of my curiosity:

Ans2: Motul is one of the most superior quality oils you can buy for your bike in India. Period. You have to use it to believe it. You can check with all the Oil Gods everywhere in the forums.

Re: Engine Oils
No flushing required! Just a note though, you may not feel the zing right away when using Motul for the first time. It may take 50 to 100 km or so to set in completely......Originally posted by xpranav View PostSure sure................ thanks a ton ............ will be using Motul this time ...........I guess "flushing" is not required as of now ..............
