Perhaps your bike isn't getting used to the *thicker grade* than the recommended level. What was the oil you used and what was the grade recommended in the manual of your bike versus the oil you've used. That can be the answer. But the engine being so *heavy* as you've quoted is kinda contradictory. You sure, the SVC/local mechs changed just the oil, did they fiddle with the carburettor, sometimes screwing up the carb setup can make the bike behave altogether.

I own a 2012 RTR version run in is 9000 km. I am on TVS TRU4 SS Oil for all these days, planning to switch to a some good, which can reduce the Engine heat, stress and make the engine smooth.
Apache like most of the bikes in its stable uses the 20w40 grade oil. You can use Motul , Valvoline, Shell AX7 10w40, Veedol, etc all are good oils.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

No, i got the oil changed by a local mechanic and just changed the oil filter with it.. I was there the whole time..
its not "too" heavy, but relative to the feel before, it has changed a bit..
Used the yamalube mineral oil is 20w50 and then i switched to Castrol Power1 SS 15w40 this time..
maybe the difference in grades might be the reason..

Ride safe and have fun.

Forget this issue for a while. Let the bike run for quite some KMS and see how it unfolds. And check your tire pressure and all nitty-gritty too.

Cheers!

The best is to avoid Castrol, if you are not sure about the originality. There are many good oils in the market then Castrol.

Cheerz!!

Hey nadz11, buddy, in case you didn't notice, everybody who's on xbhp strongly avoid Castrol. Obviously including me. It's even got a nasty nick name here. Very befitting too. It would save you a lot of bad/unsatisfied experiences if you avoided too. Its simply not worth it. Believe me. There are lots of other awesome brands out there. Motul, Veedol, Shell, Valvoline, Elf, etc are superb products! Go try!

nadz11.ns Castrol is a brand which 99% shopkeepers stock unknowingly that they might be fake, i used castrol for a month in my splendor and it caused poor cold starts and higher engine noise , changed to Valvoline and it became like new again , so Castrol isn't a bogus brand but chances are you might get a fake one , I use Mobil for my extreme its 10w30 . Best bet will be to use OE oil as they wont be fake .

Near my place Castrol empty oil cans fetching value of rs 20 to 30/- per plastic can from local mechanics. No value for other brand empty cans like shell, Veedol, etc.
Now you can understand what is happening.

This really is a shame, for the company and the people who do such acts..
this is just similar to vandalizing our bikes without our knowledge.. A fake oil can't do anything which it should have to be doing

The reason Castrol is being faked so much is it because it's one of the oil manufacturer's surefooted stance as the ubiquitous oil in India. Ask even a retard which brand that comes to his mind, he'd first say Castrol. And that's both the boon and bane of Castrol and it's being so replicated that they are almost and indeed impossible to undo the fake from the real stuff.

And this falls for not only oils but for any stuff, when demand is good for a specific brand and that's resonated well with customers. A good example would be induction cookers, where exactly same fake Prestige are sold side by side next to the genuine one, one can't say which is which unless the guy himself says it to you, and if he happens to be your friend.

But that's why I always say Crapstrol, oh and that's just me.

Cheers!

Ask a store if they can stock it or use gulf pride, I use that when motul isn't available.
