@pixantz ok and I think it's not a problem to find Veedol here as there are many good places where I can get those and also there is a Veedol factory nearby and one of my friend's father is working there. . . Okay and isn't the recommended oil for Honda Unicorn is 20W40 and you are recommending a 10W40, what's the difference between them. . ? and not to forget I was also using the same. . . @B7ACKTHORN and others please tell me more about this and what Fully synthetic oils , Castrol Power1 Racing and Shell Ultra which is also a synthetic oil and what's the pros/cons of it and I at how many kms the oil should be change (if I am not wrong it must be something like 7k) and a little more info. . . Thanks in advance. . .

Look around this forum and you'll get more than you can ask for. Thing is, everybody has almost the same queries and its like a cycle of same questions and queries. So there are lots of answers and links etc from veteran riders and you'll be happy. Just need to look back just about 10 previous pages or so, and then you'll be an 'Oil God' youself! )

Having already used Motul 300V 10W40 for my ZMA,I am now thinking of going for Motul 7100 10W40.
All this due to some suggestions that Motul 300V is overkill for street biking.
Is it true that the "7100" is better suited for street biking ?
My usage is mostly street commutes apart from occasional rides.
And I wish to stick to the synthetic oils.

Changed to 5100 -15W50- on 22-June and again changed today to same.

Gear shifting is awesome with the ultra smooth Engine !

FS oils are too much for just city riding ur simply wasting money, u can try SS motul 5100 or mineral oil is also ok it won't harm ur bike.

@B7ACKTHORN if I were to decide between Castrol Power1 Racing and Shell Ultra, which would you prefer for my Honda Unicorn and boy oh boy, @sinnerz2000 is here too, bro now as you are also riding a Unicorn, which oil are you using and should I go for fully synthetic or stay back with my Semi-synthetic Shell Advance, . ? BTW for Unicorn it is recommended 20W40 and is it fine with what I am using 10W40 or is it ok to put 10w50 for my Unicorn, no harm will be done. . ? Thanks in advance fellows. . .

Using FS oil will give you slightly increased drain period, better gear shifts, smooth engine. The only thing that might stop you from buying FS oil is the price factor. Else, it is personal choice for which oil to be used.

10W40 or 10W50 can be used. But, the current ambient temperatures are not so low, that you have to use 10W oil for that matter. The best bet is to use 20Wxx or 15Wxx in any seasons, except winters (assuming you live in cold region).

Any oil will do its work. But, you will notice the change (personal experience), if you divulge from the recommended viscometrics.

                  Cheerz!!

No bro I guess I can invest for oil, after all whatever I do is good for me and my bike, that's what I want. . . Okay now tell me the time period specified to change FS oils, i.e., how many kms once should I change it, as of presently for the Shell Advance, he said I could ride it up to 3500kms, so what about Power1 and Ultra. . ? Our place ain't so cold, it's one of the best places in the world to live in, the climate is normal, not too cold not too hot, just right and so, you mean to say that 15wXX oil is good for me or not. . ?

I'm using mineral oil motul 3000 and I'm happy with it, FS oils are not required for our bike as it is already very smooth, and u may have clutch slippage issues on FS oils. On uni don't use anything xxw50, 10w40 should be ok to use.

But the performance difference b/w mineral and FS is quite noticeable even for city riding, hence my inclination towards FS.
Anyways my question is whether to go for 300V or 7100 ?
Can anyone comment b/w the effectiveness of the two i.e "300V vs 7100"?

Rakesh bro, you're getting all stressed up on the oil thingie here dude. Chill man. To get the best experience and care for your bike just got to remember two core things when choosing your oil. In your case:
                              1) a good brand like Motul, Shell, Veedol, Elf,etc and bought from a trustworthy vendor/retailer.
                              2) keep the viscometrics in mind. Here you can enjoy anything between 10 and 40. ie 10W30, 10W40, 20W40. From experience I wouldn't suggest 15w40 because that grade is made for cars. You wont kill your bike by using it though. Anything lesser than 10 grade or more than W50 grade just not needed in your case. Keep just these things in mind and you and your ride will have a healthy and long relationship.
As for the FS angle, its upon choice. One way to put it is that ,using an FS oil like Motul 7100 or Mobil/Mobil1 FS etc in a Unicorn is like putting a Honda City engine in an autorickshaw just because its a Honda and you can afford it. You can argue about the extra performance you will get but then...... get the picture?
