Re: Engine Oils
Grade doesn't doesn't determine the quality of the oil, grade is how viscous the oil is under certain temperature, read the info on first post you'll understand everything. 3100 and 5100 are SS oils and 300v is a FS oil.Originally posted by Taahir View PostThanks mate,

i know the viscosity concept, just that 3100 and 5100 are of same company and same grade and as u say both are SS, thats why was in a bit of a confusion about the difference between them...!!

bajaj discover 100 with castrol power 1 racing 10w50.Originally posted by Taahir View Postwhich bike do u have...?
and what is the drain period.....??
Done 400kms trip thrice with this same oil at speeds 80-90kmph streching max to 97kmph. vibrations occur after crossing 90kmph speed. I think thats sounds surprising for a 100cc bike.
I Did 6000kms in a period of 7 months on same oil. The oil didn't feel of draining after such abuse.
That Bajaj oil gave severe vibrations at just 60-70kmph speed.

Re: Engine Oils

Vibes at 90+ speed is something excepted from a 100cc bike.

As said by sinnerz, drain period depends upon your ride style and moreover health of your bike engine.Originally posted by Taahir View PostLokesh027

Re: Engine Oils
planning to go with motul 4t 5100 15w50 oil for p180 clocked 9600 kms.
Right choice..?
avoiding 300v because on motul website, they have written that 5100 is recommended for bajaj engines.
