I feel happy and pity for the chap, of course it's all that "first love, take care" habit that is ingrained in almost anyone. You get a new phone, wipe it, lick it, and do whatever to keep it shiny and glossy, and some odd day it falls and takes a scratch, and then voila, you give up and start banging it. It's kinda the same story.

Metal chips, grey gunky deposits at the end of the oil dripping is completely normal, and as a matter of fact in every new engine it's the same procedure or older engines for that matter. But if you have metal chips coming each and every time you drain the oil then you *might* be having some issues. For a new engine it's pretty common sight due to the tight clearances and normal wear.
Now some even go overboard stating, that I didn't see metal chips or thinks of that matter in my first service? Is something wrong? Absolutely, no. If you get the sediments and chips strained away that's good, and if the oil doesn't even have any traces of metal that's even more good news. Some engines even in their first service are really clean, but 85 to 90% fall in this category. But it's acceptable for a new bike and first to second services. But not after 8 to 10k KMS.
Ride safe!

Cheers!
