and I just bought in December, 4 bottles with December 2008 manufacturing, the price has been revised to 395/ltr. And yea I directly contact a dealer.
Even they refuse to give discounts saying that its has a very less margin coz its directly imported
Hey i run just 500Kms a month thats why
BTW even the can i got 4 months ago had 350Rs as MRP, but he gave me ~30 Rs discount then. Margin being less is not true, they wont sell the oil if thats the case.

Close your eyes and go for castrol power1 racing(10W40), fully synthetic oil. Its should cost 700+. Should easily last 6000+ Kms (conservative estimate).
Note: power1 is semi-syth which is not good, but power1 racing fully synth is very good.

Also there are so many conterfiet products, so make sure you get it from the dealers listed by castrol india website.

      • He he ... no re... P1 is not "bad" - in absolute terms. The problem is that mechs use P1 - whenever they see a Pulsar 180 or 200 or even 220. Its not what the manf recommends. 15W40 - not meant for use in bikes which req 20W50 ... which is why it turns out to be poor on such bikes.

Use it on a KZMA (orig rec 20W40..later 10W30) and you will see its at least better than your HH 4Toil.

Anyway. By Far the best choice is Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T - 750 per Litre - but absolutely worth it. And yes its fully synth.

As for Activ 4T xtra - 20W50 mineral oil - I use it in my Yezdi thats my only use for it ...

        I never liked it.

I would get it next time I get it serviced from the Bike Zone.
Thanks for the help cssk and Sandeep.

Nice to see you posting again
Yes you are correct and maybe thats the reason why they lost their smoothness so soon in my bike.
Are you running Power 1 Racing?
If yes tell us more about it, should help our fellow riders.
BTW i am using it in my dad's activa
It just goes like a rocket compared to the earlier honda oil.

If you are going at Castrol Bike Zone, make sure they do the change when you are there. Serious recommendation..! You wouldnt know what they put in otherwise.
If the bike doesnt need servicing, buy the oil and go to a decent mechanic. wait there and get it done..shouldnt take more than an hour. At bikezone, you will have a higher waiting time.

due due to shortage of supplies and increasing prices, thought to order in bulk

After using it for 2500Kms, i still fell it should hold on for another 2500Kms.
What is the drain interval you are following on the 5100?

Engine oil capacity being 1.2lts is another pain, so whatever oil we try, we need 2 cans. If we are not satisfied and want to try something else, off goes the 2nd can waste

I am thinking of shifting to 300V, but because i clock very less KMS, its impractical. Oil leaks are another scare.

drain period is easily doable 4000kms...

well, suggest you not to go for 300v for coz you don't have much to drive, secondly its cstly and there are leaking problems emerging out...with drain interval of 6000kms.

Better stick to 5100 and you can use the other bottle every time for topping up the oil. Or another way when you do a next oil change, buy a ltr bottle and remaining oil(150ml) use the old motul 5100. It's the best thing and it won't be noticed much

I thought about 300V only because my top up bottle is over. I myself know all the advantages of fully sythetic oils after reading it in a 100+ pages of engine oil bible. To be very honest synthetic oils have a drain interval of 10000 Kms. But i will stick to 5100 for now.

well I dont use it now that P1 Racing 4T has hit the market

I dont have any negative feedback of P1 - when it is used in a bike for which it is meant. It can work on any bike that requires 20W40 grade oil. Its a decent oil. As I said .. better than at least your HH 4T oil.

280 per litre chalta hai ? Then you can get VP4T - SemiSynth ... very good oil.

What about Hitanshu's Veedol ...wasn't he saying that it was the best ever 20W50 mineral he used ?
Yeah. Though of late, I think we're just agonising too much on a simple issue. Or I'm lazy.

Get a life - Just buy whatever piece of junk you get near your place and change appropriately (meaning 1000-1500km of running)

Which is why VP4T (2 effing 80 bucks) despite daylight robbery is not being replaced by Sprinta 4000 (?) costing 180 or Veedol. But yes, veedol turbostar is very very nice - VP4T is just a wee bit better in gearshifts (post 5000km with it).

Thanks for the advice, but I watch my bike getting service every time, so I keep an eye on what all work they are doing, in this regard I guess BikeZone is little better then the Service centers
