buddy well the first one was of vw but it has relative information to understand about the engine oil. I am just saying that it is not necessary to switch to synthetic or semi synthetic. It is just a advise because semi or fully synthetic have longer drain interval around 6k normally also they make your bike really smooth and won't let it heat in any condition, Otherwise it is not necessary. You can carry forward with mineral oil. But to switch to synthetic you should atleast do 6k on your bike

I think that is a motorcycle oil. I have seen that can once with the same doubt but found it as motorcycle oil. Don't remember what exactly I saw on that - may be JASO MA. If you can post pictures of front and back of that oil can we can take the discussion further.
i think u r also confused with it ,it basically meant for petrol cars and has been widely used by p180 riders
it was API SM but doest have JASO MA cartificate which every bike requires
don't know how but many p180 and many others happy using it.
Tried out Valvoline 4T-Premium Semi synth 20w50 on my P180UG3. Man that oil actually made my bike smoother than what power1 or activ4T ever did. maybe because i never got my hands on a 20w50 from castrol due to probs in availability here.

Do u mean to say that you have been using W40 castrol all this while for your 180 UG3..

Man SVC people tell what they want.. nothing to loose for them.. when the engine is brand new it is not advised to go for SS/FS it is better to stick to Mineral oi.
After 6k kms you can try Motul SS, in Motul SS you have 20w40 grade also available better use that which matches your bike's required grade.

It is always good to stick to your manufacturer recommendations. Since your manual says 20w40 so i would suggest not to go for 15w50. Motul also has w40 oils which are easily available(I think 3000 4T).
If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be.
thanx abhilashabhi12 i will not use that before 6k. but one my freind yesterday told that he is not able to find any xxw40 grade semi-synthetic oil what he is getting is 15w50 in motul 5100. Any suggestion. he will use that in his fz-s. well recommended is 20w40.

I have personally used W50 where as W40 is recommended for my bike & it was all good for me ( My bike is CBZ Classic).. but some smooth machines like Unicorn, Hunk etc had problems quoting bike felt sluggish since the oil is very thick.
