Even I had read so much about FS Sprinta having problems with Honda engines.. & today I have experienced it myself..Originally posted by ron_7933 View Posta friend of mine used patronus fully synthetic in his '06 unicorn. and the bike got screwed!!
it started burning the oil and the poor chap had to spend around 5-6k to get the piston and all changed. but the problem still persists. any suggestions??
One of my friend & me changed our oils to Sprinta FS 20W40, my friends bike Uni has lost about 100-150ml of oil in a span of 2k kms & in my bike(CBZ Classic) with in 1.5k kms oil level has come down & engine started behaving rough & also the gears have become hard.
I had used 300V prior to this & what a contrary it is . 300V worked like a charm even after 5.5k kms done.
If it was a one of case then may be we could have concluded on your above statement, but it seems thier are more people having this problem.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post
engines get screwed up for various other reasons but definitely not for using a synthetic oil in the same grade as recommended.
.
As far as I rem, Velicroptor, Me, My frenid on His uni & Ron thier with his freinds Experience..
I have decided instead of Sprinta FS I l go with Motul SS in the same price bracket..sigpicAll India Permit 1+1

Good. Didn't know that.Originally posted by onlinesatish View Postprabhakar had W40 in 5100
Handful of them. Castrol, Valvoline, Motul, Gulf, Yamalube, Petronas among the ones I have seen directly.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostCan anyone tell me how many companies(name), have 20W50 oil in their lot for bikes.
Okay. Cannot help with conclusions but there are many more engines running like never before with this oil. For that matter, I know some engine seized Pulsar 150's running on Motul 300V 15W50 (low oil) where in I haven't seen the oil level going down for this oil even in P200 & P220. It is something else that acted upon and you cannot just blame a good engine oil for this.Originally posted by abhilashabhi12 View PostEven I had read so much about FS Sprinta having problems with Honda engines.. & today I have experienced it myself..

An engine oil is a Lubricant. It does nothing in a combustion chamber. (in 4 stroke engines). Its area of work are the crank case, clutch case, coil case, cam shaft area. Well, I don't mean to mention that there is no link at all but an oil that is good for all other areas definitely does not affect the bore & piston parts negatively.

Yeah I know.. Just wanted to share the Info.. Prior to using it on my own bike even i was curious to know why is it such that only Petronas it is not working well with Honda engines..Originally posted by HydBiker View PostOkay. It seems to me now after 1.5k the oil has become as good as mineral if not bad.

it is better to use SVC Oil until you finish your warranty.Originally posted by umeshkumawatsa View PostHello Guys I am new at the forum. I've clocked 1.6 km on my new fz and willingly to change oil. I am really confused to go for a semi-syn, fully-syn
or use normal mineral oil well i would also welcome your suggestion for which brand or type to go.
Semi or Fully synthetic is only advised after your bike is completed at least 6-7k kms.. dont be in a hurry let your bike engine settle firstsigpicAll India Permit 1+1

well there is no problem using that oil. Also there is no problem in drain interval of 3000 km but for smoothness and longer engine life you could change oil in between 1500-2000. Also i would like to inform you that u should use motul 30004t 20w40 till 6k-10k and then switch to motul semi or fully synthetic oil. Following are the links you should consider
