Firstly there is NO xW50 oil from Castrol except Activ 4T Xtra.Originally posted by BlueBlitz View Posthey guys! i been using volvoline semi-synthetic since 4-6K KMS for my Pulsar200.
The performance have been good, an i am satisfied. Now just today my mechanic is giving me an offer of Castrol Active 4t 10W50 (its full synthetic) free with service. I want to go for it, it may be good but i have one doubt. In my next service if i switch back to semi-synthetic volvoline,, will it be a problem. will it affect my cluch??
Secondly Activ 4t is 20W40, and it IS a mineral.
Activ 4T Xtra is 20W50 , and a mineral too. When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Hi Friends,
I am currently using Castrol Power1 on my Unicorn and I am now planning to try Castrol Power1 Racing this time, however when i looked in Castrol website does not recommend this oil for Unicorn.
I also heard from Honda Showroom mechanic that Power1 Racing Oil in Unicorn is creating Clutch plate issues, I am not sure how far this is true.
Please let me know if I can use Castrol Power1 Racing in Unicorn and R15.

first and foremost a xw40 grade is not recommended for the p180.The recommended oil is XW50.Originally posted by eessa View Posthi ppl help needed

Even i have heard about Castrols not being comfortable in Unicorns.Originally posted by bhargava_sr View PostHi Friends,

U can use Motul 300V 5W40.(Both for the Uni and the '15) Many of my friends are using it and they are happy. It can last 6k kms with just a top up.When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

urgent help plz ! !
Drained the oil today in my uni and refilled with a 1 litre valvoline champ 4t and when checked the level of engine oil using dipstick , the oil touches the top end(i.e. the upper level mark).
Is it necessary to drain some oil to bring down the level or its not a very big issue to worry about . . . ..?
draining procedure :
1.Warmed up the engine by 5-10 km ride .
2.Quickly drained the oil on center stand.
3.With ignition off , kicked the engine several times(30-40 times) to drain the complete possible old oil .The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

did you check the oil just after filling up without starting the engine?Run the engine for some time, then check the level.Btw if the level is on the upper mark then its quite fine.Originally posted by honda_vings View Posturgent help plz ! !

no no no
i checked after riding a bit only (i.e. the proper way of measuring oil level as per manual) and thanx for declaring it as fine as i have ridden it enuff after that.
Neways , here comes an oil better then HONDA's genuine oil for UNICORN , i.e. VALVOLINE CHAMP 4T .
The bike is now running uber cool , smooth and better throtlle response in mid-range and top-range . In low-end i felt no difference at all. Engine noise is more silent , hence a little more like honda activa engine noise , but it feels good.
Just one doubt , this is the first time i replaced the oil myself , so i don't know wheather the A.S.S. people were honest with the oil replacements.
But in any case , valvoline performs more then expected.Just go 4 it neday. The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.

Hi guys,
Just got an oil change done on my Activa. Its now on Motul 300V 5w40. Ride has improved but its gets gruff beyond 40kmph. Maybe its due to change from mineral to semi-synth to fully synth. Lets see how it becomes after about 100-200 kms are done.
Cheers,
