      Hi Hari,

Please share your experience in using the SHell Diesel oil. That would be very helpful for all the curious bikers.

        Yeah sure.

My splendor went a engine rebuild and it did 2k kms. So was upto a oil change. I guess the mechanic filled it with shell ax7. Was using the same for years. Saw many of the members using the shell rimula r3x and r4. Divya sharan has used it in his zmr. So thought why not the splendor.

So got the rimula r4 almost the price of the ax7. First hesitated that I was getting a mineral oil for the price of a semi syn oil.

But after pouring the oil. Its was wow. Have been riding the bike for 5 years. Ripped it to hell all these years but ripping with this oil was comfortable. Now my dad rides the splendor after rebuild as I got a new bike.

I occasionally ride the splendor. Has done more than 2k kms with oil. Still feels the same. But other oils used to feel harsh after 1k or sooner.

Will do a oil change soon. Surely the hx4.

Using the same in an activa. Similar results in the activa too

Actually so far I have used hdeo in honda dio only & I am more than satisfied with its performance, be it city commuting in traffic or high speed highway riding. As of now I haven't used hdeo in my motorcycle though I will be giving it a try soon.
            Many experts here have
used hdeo in their bikes having wet clutches & all have given very positive feedback on the same.

Shell Rimula "T3" poured in Szr.
450 kms done on this oil. Gear shifting rough/notchy in the beginning. Went away after 50kms. But its back n there since last 100kms now.
Mostly rough on downshifting & lately has been very difficult to find the neutral gear.
All the problems stated above weren't present before using this particular oil except for the occasional rough shifting for 1 minute or so(3-4 times in 2k kms).
But I'm so thoroughly convinced by all the people using hdeo that after all this I still don't want an oil change

AX7 is a good oil. Have been using that oil since past 2k and have ripped the oil. Till date the gear shifts are butter smooth, no engine roughness, engine heat under control. I would say that, pretty good oil for 375 bucks.

                  Cheerz!!

Yup it sure, have been using it for almost 2 years now on my Unicorn, wanna know if it gives out the same performance on a Honda Dio. . ?

Currently I have done @2k kms on my my dio with Shell Rimula R3x & its still holding up good. I have been using Shell AX7 in my bike (honda dazzler) & its a very good oil. But at this price range, for automatic scooters like honda dio, Shell rimula R4 will be a better choice as I guess both AX7 & rimula R4 are similarly priced while rimula R3X is cheaper than them.

You pulled out a puzzler eh? Although it looks like Shell AX-7, we cannot be sure of what's inside it!!! esp considering that place.

However, if you were wondering how bottle looks like, a simple yahoo search on 'Shell ax7' gets you below images:

Yes indeed. The reason maybe due to this is what I reckon, the both the AX3 and AX5 are mineral oils with just the W increased in the latter, and the AX7 is a Semi Synthetic whereas the gold AX7 is fully synthetic, it's pretty much a great differentiator from Shell.

                              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                              THE END

hi/excuse me ... has anyone used the "Mobil" brand of bike engine oil?

It just happened that the regular store I buy my engine oils had this Mobil brand in their collection (only one type - 10W-40 Semi Synthetic, Rs.328/-). Its been for few months now been using it on my Unicorn or since I brought my Unicorn last year. According to what I feel is that its comparatively better than mineral based 10W-30 ones. So did anyone had a "Mobil" experience here?
