Have you installed a new cylinder-piston block or have you re-bored the block? What oil does your manual specify?

The current gen Honda and Hero bikes are on 10W30 oil.

        Use a 10w40 or a 20w40 imo
        Use mineral in summer....
        Change oils every 2k kms
        Try motul or shell

10W30 oil can be used. Why do you want to move from 20W40 to 10W30?

RX-100 being a two stroke engine, requires a pre-mix for lubrication. Properties of 4-stroke oil is different than 2-stroke oil. 300V being a 4-stroke oil should not be used for your RX-100.

            Cheerz!!
Very simple... RX just requires oil for gearbox...thats it.. my recommendation ..go for GTX .. thats absolutely enough.... nd for 2T ...motul has strong presence in market.... but if you van shell good amt then go for Yamalube 2T available at auth workshop

The increase in mileage is marginal and varies according to riding style.

I will suggest that one should not play with the last figure of oil, one should not switch to 10w30 oil from 20w40, can switch to 10w50 full synthetic oil for yamaha rx100

Then I shall stick to 20w40 gulf pride as it lasts the longest in my engine (I normally replace oil at 2500 maybe 3000) iv tried motul elf Honda castrol ss ... All of them get done in about 1000-1500km

OH Really !! This is news. In that case any oil mentioning "meets/exceeds jaso standards" can be considered as genuine and the topic can be put to rest. CHEERZ !!

Have you tried mobil josh, give it a try and i feel you will like the performance of the oil, i don't feel castrol India is supplying top notch product, instead they are just taking advantage of there name and providing oil of substandard atleast in India.

A new poll has come up here - Which is better oil than Mobil 1 Synthetic 20w40! I have never seen a biased poll like this. Whosoever votes, will vote against Mobil 1. What if Mobil 1 is the best oil? There is no option.

Dont mind al this bro now lets just forget all this and go on.

                              Now meri baat suno sablog:P
I poured in shell pennzoil 15w40 fs oil (i think fs) in my bike ment for gasoline cars as stated.
I got this oil for free from a friend who had a liter to spare from his car.
So I put the oil as an experiment with 2 table spoons of ows engine treatment for old engines (also sourced from him)
                              Its a fully synthetic oil.
Now this oil is smooth as a freshly powdered carom board!
                              Vibration levels are low,
Milage is lesser by 1 to 3 kmpl (probably because I am riding a little enthusiastically )
                              Bike runns very cool
Clutch slips only when I try to do very fast acceleration with a pillion but never when im alone.
As the engine heats up oil works better is what I feel which is opposite to what happened before...before when the engine got hot it got harsh
Now when the engine gets hot its smoother then when its cold!
Its a fs oil! And its 250rs a liter if you buy a 1 liter pack and 1400 odd rs I you buy a 6 liter pack::P
I have done over 300km already with this oil.
I wont suggest this to anyone since my engine is the gunie pig here
A 75 thousand km old gunie pig!
I will stick to this oil now for 10, 000 km and change every 2k to 3 k kms or before if it looses viscosity.
                              Will report time to time

Thanks divyansh bro,you are right everyone has got the right to express his views and opinions, (aapki mother ko meri taraf se Namaste) i got bit carried away by the words which i shouldn't have, but it's fine now, 15w20 oil the 20 figure is sounding strange to me, but as you are saying the engine is running cooler and smoother after pouring this oil, than it's ok, 1 to 3 mileage drop is not that very much, you are using this oil in your 4t bike can the same oil be used in 2t stroke bikes,if this oil can be used in 2t bikes then i will use it, i think that when the engine gets hot the oil comes to its operating temperature and hence works better because of which you are feeling the smoothness, what i feel(purely felt no technical proof) is that the fs oil should not be used in brand new engines because there is lot of rubbing and polishing in a brand new engine, metal gets cut so at that time normal mineral must be used and after maybe 10,000kms or so can switch to fs oils, what do you say.
