The best way of removing confusion is to use this oil 10w40. Go for Motul.

i use pulsar 220fs. my friend suggested motul. would one of you recommend a good engine oil? and also the user manual does not mention anything about warranty being void if we change the engine oil brand. please enlighten me on that topic too.

Definitely this grade is not providing any protection to the vital parts of the engine, go for Motul, bajaj engines works wonderfully better with motul as lots of riders have mentioned here in this forum, how much kms you have covered till date, you can go for fs oil if you have already crossed 10000kms.

JASO certified 4T Engine Oils of Indian Origin as of 01-May-2014

          1. Thanks @muztariq for pointing out M091 stands for Indian Origin.
          2. I prefer a JASO(2011) certified oils over those who just claim it.
          3. Motul carries France(M033) & Singapore code (M065) while Yamaha got Japan's (M081) on their oils.

Go for Motul ss oil till you clock 8 or 9000kms and then switch to FS oils.

One word, rubbish, when compared to the likes of motul, shell, mobil1 etc.
Its better than lal ghoda engine oil...and fake castrols.

For an ignitor or any hero bike right now, 10w40 in summers is your best friend, best oil that almost every hero owner loves? Shell advance ax7 10w40,
You get motul fs oils in w30 as well.

Warrenty is void if you use any other oil, yet some svcs allow you to get your own oil, ask them about if, if not let them pour in the dtsi, use it for 300 to 500km and drain, then add the oil you like, for example motul.
Now use this oil and go for regular service let them drain motul oil (I doubt they will check if the drained black shit is motul or dtsi oil.)
                  Repeat!
This method gives you more flexibility on your oil choices and sort of acts like a non detrimental regular engine flush thats good for your bike in the long run,
Unfortunately its a wee bit expensive and time taking.
I just told a 200ns owner the same thing on the 200ns ownership thread.

Ps:- use a moneral or ss oil like motul 3000, 3100 or 5100 till all free services are exhausted then shift to an fs oil or stick with the 5100!
Try any other brand as well if you like them!
Clean centrifugal filter every 5 k kms or so during your oil change if you havent done so already. Labour expenses plus 22rs for clutch cover gasket.

Sorry for the long post guys

Vw svc guy asked me to bring a sample (50 to 150ml) in a sealed container, he will request his seniors for it!
If allowed il have to pay 400rs
Seeams a little steep but if allowed il go for it once.
Only issue is they dont give customers the report for the oil analysis even for the car, its only 'for there data bases and for vehicle ecu map readjustments and services' (longish confusing quote by the svc fellow)..
Lets see I will ask him again on friday.

                      - If I remember correctly, western counterparts (esp Blackstone labs) charges $25/-(₹ 1500/-) & additional $10/- for TAN/TBN readings.
                      - Sample size for Blackstone labs was/is 90ml.
                      - Let's hope the report is worth ₹ 400/- (fingers crossed)

I'm sure others will jump in eventually.

Good oil mixing calci and brand oil certification info there

Ot:- vw guys take 4 weeks to fix a cars dents (minor), service it and clean it up:banghead:
We say bajaj and tvs and honda service is slow and crap!
This makes me love my bike even more!:sly:
                              divyansh....

Man than what's the point if they are not even showing the report to the owner, just 4 weeks to fix a car dent wow! what a service provided by one of the biggest car manufacturers, when it comes to India every company learns very quickly that there is no need to hurry here or provide service like they provide outside India.
