There is always some oil left in the engine and the color of your new oil depends on how this oil is diluting. If 200 ml was remaining and oil capacity is 800 ml, the oil would become dark instantly.
Dont worry about oil color. Diesel engine oils change color within 5 kms that does not mean that they have lost all its property. But, if this would have happend on my motorbike I would get worried, because I keep checking the oil color every now and then and this color appears atleast after 1000 kms.. You should check oil color on next change and see how the color changes in your engine. Every engine is different.
The color is not that bad.. keep checking every 500 kms or so.

Hey guys i own a cbz xtreme 3rd model which just turned 2 years old,i generally used valvoline 4T premium oil of grade 20W50 but it didnt give me the acceleration I wanted so i changed to Castrol Active but still dissappointed. Then atlast to Motul 3100 20W50 but still I am carving for more torque and power.I ride for atleast 100 km daily and rev hard my bike but still maintain it so please guide me which oil I should use and why ? I also go on long tours for around 200 km for continous high revs(I mean continously driving at 100km/h for 2 to 3 hours).Help me out guys ??[emoji2]

Stick to 10w30 these jap engines have very tight clearences, hence the thinner oil...also oil splashing is used in the honda engine to lubricate bore walls etc... stick to the grade. You can choose any semi synthetic or synthetic oil...motul300v I suppose comes in w30 grade.

(ps:- avoid usage of coloured fonts brother, makes the thread all weird looking and on bright screens its hard to read, please don't mind )

        How are you bro!?
Agreed. The engine is/should/does runn hotter, but even then 5 kms is too less for such blackening and particulate matter.

Also sorry I didnt mention few othwr reasons as pointed out members here
        1) old oil was not drained properly(i suppose people should not get this wrong)
        2) oil filter is due for replacement since a long long time...

How much oil is the engine burning? You see a lot of white smoke? Why not an overhauk then... also... unlikely but it can be the cause
          1) plugs are not firing correctly, dirty, maybe gap is not right and the af mixture is not burning completely
          2) a blocked air filter can result in a richer mixture cant it? Theoretically a blocked fikter will allow lesser air in and the fuel flow should be same..resulting in a richer mixture...a richer mixture degrades oil very quickly..

If it is sludge and your engine is already burning oil and is due for an overhaul there is no point in an engine flush....that will make the compression even weaker and you will burn more oil!

How did you conclude engine is burning oil? Dropping levels? White smoke? What?

          Divyansh....

            3) a lot of sludge and carbon buildup in your engine... Yes This Is The Main Culprit,I Feel
            4) you need to flush this baby unless its burning oil already! Oil Is Burning
            5) your carb tuning is ultra rich....No,I Never Touched The Carb,But Got That tuned From ASC During Service+I Am Getting A Mileage Of 37+kmpl That Too With Insane Acceleration ..

For instance my pulsar is well over 90k kms old...I pour in oil... it still looks fresh after 200 odd kms or so.
(please note blackening of the oil is an inherent property of both the engine as well as the oil...it simply denotes the enhmgine and the oil are working....its this real quick blackening that should get you worried)
If there is no drop in the oil level and no white smoke from exhaust, then that means oil is not burning. Then point no.3 is the culprit. Just drive the scoot for 10 -15 kms and before the engine cools down, drain the oil when it is hot. And if you still feel that added cleaning is required, then use a good engine flush. This will generally work 90% of the time.

If there is drop in oil level and white smoke from exhaust, then my friend, u r scoot's engine requires an engine overhaul. New piston rings, new oil rings, new block piston.

              Not To Much..
No Smoke..But Oil Level Drops Constantly With Time..
(I Think Because Of Piston Rings)
Do I Need To Go For A Complete O/H(new bore, piston, rings)
Or Just Replacing Piston Rings And Degreasing Will Solve The Problem ??

If oil levels are dropping, go in for a new piston rings, new oil rings and new block-piston set. It is near to impossible to seat new piston rings on old block piston. If u keep old block piston you might endup with loss of compression. Then u will have to open engine again and u will end up paying double labor charges.

As u are opening the engine, why not replace block-piston also. You will get a brand new engine in around 5K rupees.

Xtreme need 10w30 oil but you are using double heavy oils that is why sluggish acceleration and performance. Change to any fully synthetic oil of grade 10w30 or 10w40 since you are revving the engine hard. Honda throttle 10w30 and motul 7100 10w40 are good oils that you can defenitely try.

I dont think so brother... problem is when you decarbonise the head and thr engine at whole a lot of the carbon maintaining the engine compression will be lost.... bike will start consuning more oil...

                          Absolutely wrong info.
Synthetics can be used in all engines... its not recommended or essential for most engines...but it does good and no harm whatsoever.....manufacturers recommend synthetics in the liquid cooled and oil cooled engines your talking about becuase they are often high power producing mechanically stressed and newer tech engines......

Most brands are very competitive and quality is mostly at par...if your bike has crossed 10000km then you can switch over to any good quality synthetic oil...of the 10w30 grade for your extreme. shell, veedol, and motul 300v being the most expensive of the lot... make it a habit... if tou bike is left for more than 5 hours assign it as a cold start and let the bike idel stationary on the main stand for 1 min. count to sixty in your head and give the bike a nice wipe clean in that 60secnds or so... this initial warming up will ensure ideal oil temperatures and a healthy engine..
