I am riding my RE C350 on genuine RE oil i.e. liquid gun (mineral) which is not giving satisfactory results.
I want to switch it over motul 5100 15w50 semi-synthetic.
What is the procedure to follow as i am switching from mineral to semi synthetic?
And please tell me what are the benefits of semi synthetic over mineral ?
          Thank you in advance.

Procedure is 1) Buy Motul 5100 2) drain old oil 3) pour in new oil 4) that's it.
Benefits are as you would imagine, better performance, smoothness and maybe even slightly better FE.

              +1

Do change the Oil Filter everytime you drain the oil and fill in with fresh oil.

Also, AFAIK, 1ltr oil won't suffice the oil requirement of RE. Kindly check the required oil quantity in user manual amd fill in accordingly.

              Cheerz!!

If u use 10w30 Mobil , then ur bike will breath well and revving friendly. 10w40 will make engine a little strain on high speed.earlier karizma used 10w40 as stock. But later on changed to 10w30 since they found it performs well with 10w30.
Iam using Mobil 10w30 in my HUNK and its superb.

Never knew that Mobil 1 10w40 4T is available. The website says that only 10W40 and 20W50 is available. May be they have come up with 10W30 too.
I prefer 10W40 grade because I ride my 2011 Karizma qwite slowly, in lower rpm and I keep on riding, riding and riding resulting a very hot engine.

Oh! I would like to mention here that very recently one of my friends started using Motul 5100 15W50 in his CL 350. After few days he started complaining that his Royal Enfield is not a Royal Enfield any more, since it is not producing that much vibration, it used to produce earlier.

Hey fellow xbhpians! I have a small doubt regarding what oil I should use for my bike. My Discover 125T has completed about 1.5k kms and I was now thinking of shifting to Motul 3100 Gold 20W50 (till now I had been using Bajaj 20W50). The problem is that I can't find 3100 Gold in Lucknow while Motul 7100 20W50 Fully Synthetic is available. I want to ask if it would be good (or rather safe) to use 7100 20W50 given it is fully synthetic and my bike is only a little older than a thousand kilometers? And can any of you great folks recommend a good engine oil for my bike?

Thanks for giving time to this.

Use the Company provided oil till the bike is in warranty period.
If you want to use different oil, use mineral oil from any company for the time being and use only the recommended grade oil. FS oil in the 125cc bike is waste of money. Use mineral till 4-5k kms and then you can switch to semi-synthetic at the most.
If you can't find motul, try yamalube mineral. Its as good as motul mineral and its of 20w40 grade.

                        Ride safe and have fun.
                        Regards

I am going to switch from Liquid gun to Semi synthetic oil from Shell today. Let me see how the mill works after that. Hoping to see some good numbers post that. If not, will change the oil to Motul 15W50.

Semi synthetic oil from shell is 10w40 which will be too thin for your bike if it requires 15W50

Brother, why not use Motul 5100 15W50(semi synthetic)?
But, wait for few thousand km more for semi synthetic. Motul 5100 works like a charm in Discover 125 and Pulsars. But, using Motul 7100 20W50 may not provide all round satisfactory result for your Discover 125.

Brother, please share the feedback with us. I am eager to know the outcome. Please don't forget to change the oil filter too.

BTW, which of the Shell oil you want to give a try?
