I guess praful has tried it out on his 220.. jus try contacting him ! I have heard him say its as good as 300v in performance, but doesnt last as long as 300v does (retaining its properties).

I have been using 300v in my 220 right from my run in times, and never had any problems !! Engine runs smooth, accelerates like a mad bike

How often does he change the oil?

        • Oh I know Atul well!

3.5K is very less for a full synthetic oil. Why are you changing it that often?

I kinda ride a lot in varying traffic conditions so the oil gives up on me soon, actually the last can that I used was like 4.8K KMs ago... have done some riding, a goa trip and its still holding up! lets see how much it lasts this time!

Honda oils are just good for Honda engines
And Honda engines are happy on Honda (mineral) oils....

My eterno, Dio and a close friends Unicorn cried for mercy when I used Castrol Active 4t and Power 1 on them....!

The engine lost their characteristic smoothness, the engine started (slight) vibrations, and mileage dropped.....though the bikes did have a slight better performance.

                Depends how you ride.

I had used 300V for 8000 kms under varying conditions, with only minor top ups being done every 2500 kms.

It ran well and without much deposits. Motul 300V lasts longer than most.

Yup I've been runnin my bike on the 5100T for about 25K kms now. I found the 300V to be too much of an expense and hence shifted to the 5100T.

What the 5100T has going for it is nearly the same change interval as the 300V. For my(will wary for others) riding style the 300V used to last me about 4.5K kms, and 5100T lasts me about 3.5K kms.

Smoothness is about 90% as much as the 300V has to offer. Even after doing a all day long 800km run, the shifts were pretty good. Plus the 5100T being single ester in nature makes the chances of head leaks a lot lesser as compared to the 300V which is double ester in nature.

For all out performance nothing beats 300V, but when you want to put a leash on your pocket too then the 5100T is almost as good a choice.

I have run my bike only for 13K odd kms... and drained motul twice ... First time during run in, i changed it after 2.5k and second time i have run the oil for abt 5k kms.

Then used Castrol Fully Synth, which s*** .. so i changed back to motul and running on 300v for 2.5k kms already. It is good enuff to ride anothe 3k ...

Note: I dont ride the engine at high revs on daily basis... i reach 5th gear by the time i touch 40 to 50 on speedo ... and dont use the engine much on high rpms. So the oil doesnt lose its properties for a long time

PS: the current Motul 300v is in the engine for as long as 10 months and run 2.5k... so that speaks !!!!

The leaks can happen even on normal mineral oil. The 300V makes it a tad more susceptible to happen.

                        • arvind did a lot of research for his motul mineral.

Basically if you are planning on high revving the engine most of the times, no matter what oil you put, there will be slight leakage from the head. Having said that, with 300V, engine doesn't overheat as much and it's smoothness is astounding compared to Castrol mineral. There are multiple examples where people are using 300V without head leaks. And I personally have seen head leakage from a pulsar 2000kms later after the owner switched back to Castrol from Motul.

That would be 300V again but a different grade. 5W40 for the 954.
