    • [QUOTE=Raccoon;304104]But have these users tried out the RIGHT grade? I think not! HH oil is 10W30 and all the others are not of that grade. Seems to me like a pretty dissimilar comparison, at the moment...

You hit the nail.. I guess since thier was not any option in fully synthetic oil for W30 Grade they have been using either w50 or w40..

One of my Orkut Frnd used 300V W50 grade in his Hunk & he drained it with in 500Kms cos he was not happy with it & he felt loss in pickup & top End.. while I m very happy using 300V W50 Grade oil in my Classic CBZ for which recommended grade is W40.

Well you can check out in JC Road then.. well I have used only 300v 15w50 Until now & finished 4.5k Kms & I can swear by it It is one of the best oils available right now.. I have heard a lot about Sprinta & I am recomending you since one of my frnd has used it on his Uni & has done 1k Kms with which he confirms that it is as better as CPR1.

Coming to price - the price printed on bottle is 430 but the shop here is selling @ 370/Ltr.

reg Shell Sry I dont have idea on it bro.

        • Hi Guys

My cousin has purchased a RTR180 two months back...and he is not happy with the engine oil.

Please can you guys recommend the best engine oil that can be used for the RTR180. I do not know which is better a Semi-synt or a fully synth oil.

Kindly recommend the best oil for the RTR180 as it is more powerful bike is it better to go for 20W50 or the 20W40 would be good.

          • ^If it completed 3000kms ,go for Semi Synth Oil 20W40..this is what I plan for My RTR after 2nd Service.
Don't go for 20W50.I asked in TVS Service.they says the Engine Refinement goes away if 20W50 is used.

            • hi, I own a suzuki gs150r, 900km done so far and 1st service over about a month ago.
The bike is very smooth for the first 5km in the morning and then i can start feeling vibrations at foot rest.
could this be due to bad engine oil ???
right now i'm using veedol 20w40(given by SC itself).
Is it a bad company by any chance.?
if so suggest any better oil which is 20w40.
and also tell if it comes in 1.1lt bottle

              • Nopes dude, Veedol is known to make some good oils. You probably need to make doubly sure that it is indeed Veedol 20W40 thats going in. Only seeing is believing. Also, IIRC, it comes in two grades (besides the Swift, which is of a different viscosity). Try the premium 20W40 if that is the case...

You could also try Gulf, Elf, Valvoline, etc. and see what works for you.

thanks. would shell be a better choice for engine oil ?
also, would a 20w50 oil be better compared to 20w40 as it has same viscocity at 0 degrees and better viscocity at higher temp.
                  (the manual recommends 20w40 though)
also, my bike needs 1.1lt of engine oil, and AFAIK all companies sell it in 1lt bottles. any suggestions for this(apart from buying 2 bottles which wouls be like a waste of money)

                  • which is better synthetic oil ?
                    valvoline or shell or petranos?
                    i need 20w50 grade.
Also, want to know about price and drain interval.

PS: No motul as i find it no VFM after increase in price and non-availability of 20w50 grade.

Shell... well, never heard anything great about it from anybody. Not used myself either. So no comments.

Please stick to recommended grade, ie. 20W40.

Can't think of any solution to your 1.1 lt problem. I believe most bike oils come in 900 ml though. If you have any friends using the same brand and grade, then you could pool up with them share a bottle for the extra 100/200 ml. Else just seal and store the bottle corrently, for the next change.

Try the new Gulf 20W50. Contact the company, if you can't source it from shops.

1, default bajaj Service center oil dont know what they replace up with the service but not very much satisfied had faced lot of vibrations

2, Elf moto gold good for some 400 kms after thet engine not smooth

3, Castrol active 4t very much noisy slow pickup and cant go beyond the 60s

4, Shell 20W40 good oil very smooth ride for almost 3000+ kms

I need suggestion for what kind of oil to use which will give me a smooth engine with less noise and good pickup

is Valvoline Champ4t 20w40 is a synthetic oil

is power 1 racing recommended for P 150

is ther any synthetic blend available in 20W-40 which is the recommended range for P150

Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride

                        • ^^^ When evaluating an oil, you'd need at least a couple of fills with the same oil, to be really able to evaluate. This is because a lot of the old oil (which you can't drain out the usual way) will get mixed with the new. So at the 1st fill, you may experience a mixed kinda effect.

No fully synth oil in 20W40 grade. The nearest would be Petronas 10W40... upto you if you want to use that grade. You could also try mineral 20W40 from Gulf, Veedol, Petronas, Motul.

Almost everyone who has used Motul synth has found it better than P1 Racing. However, neither is available in the recommended grade.

If you mean Xw40. Both Motul and CP1R are available in that grade. Though Xw40 Motul is difficult to source where I stay. The only CP1R I came acorss is 10W40.
