  • Yet another motul fan

Ever since i changed my engine oil to power1 at 2000 kms(I could nt wait till 5k kms) I discovered this liquid engineering
Immediately after the change I could feel a dramatic change the way bike feels and gears became so smoooooth
I thought this was the best that could happen to my bike. HELL NO . I was wrong
The smoothness only lasted 1000 kms. I used to change the oil every 2k kms and the smoothness was back I use to like it that way
At 14k kms i wanted a change i want to give motul a try,I was backing off due to oil leakage that many reported on pulsars. First wanted to try semi synth 5100 first and later THE 300V
bought 5100 in 10w40 grade and it changed at 14200 kms. I was expecting immediate change like power1
No, bike was feeling rough sounding same coarse. I was so disappointed.
As the days passed by I started loving this became smoother
crazy these engines are! they make u feel they too have life!
DOWNSHIFTS were never this fun(shifts smooth even with out a blip)
I should see how many kms it lasts..

      • Best engine oil for my RD350

        Hi,
I was reading your thread and found this to be very informative. I would like to ask which engine oil would you recommend me for my RD350. Currently my bike is being rebuilt and since my engine would be fresh, please suggest me the correct engine oil I shuld be going in for. Normally i have been using castrol 20/W40.

        Thanks and Best Regards

I think you're talking about the oil for the gearbox. I would suggest the Petronas Sprinta 2000 20W-50 which I use in my RX and its superb.

For the 2T oil I would suggest you use a mineral oil till you finish break in and then use a full synthetic oil like Petronas Sprinta 5000.

Thanks very much for your suggestions. The saddest part is that its difficult for me to find Petronas Sprinta 2000 20W-50 in Kolkata, will need to look out for it.

            • FZ @ 1.5k

Hey guys I've clocked 1.5k on my FZ-16, and the gear shifts are killing me. Neutral to 1st gear just dont slot into place the first time. What oil would you recommend?? Probably not synthetic, and the SVC says they are using Yamalube, which, if true sucks big time.. Any other Mineral oil of 20W40 grade??
              Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

Brother, if I am not wrong, Motul 300V is 15W50 grade and the recommended grade is 10W30. Using other than 10W30 can have a serious problem in the engine. So, whats the fully synthetic 10W30 4t oil avaiable?? I am also looking for the same.....
                Move on.........

I think we should not use any other grade oil except 10W30 in HH CBZ-X/Hunk. I am also looking for 10W30 fully synthetic oil. All the 10W30 oils are semi synthetic, like Castrol Power1(10W30-speciall for HH), Gulf Pride 4T, Volvoline etc. Can any member suggest anything....?

                    • hmmm cant think of any 10w30 fully synthetic

btw the SC goons have filled 20w40 castrol power1 into my bike-p180 which recommends 20w50 ...
the viscosity @ 100 deg is less,so is that serious thing ? of course i'll change it ASAP but in the mean time does it harm the engine?

I am not very much aware of it but I think it may cause harm if you are riding in high temp. Castrol p1 comes in 15W40 grade.....
But Castrol recommends the Power 1 for P180 also.

You still need to stick to mineral oil recommended grade for your ride is 20W40 so try using SERVO 4T which I am using right now 190Rs lit you can get it on any indian oil petrol pump.

10W30 Oil is Motul but very difficult to find so if your bike is 150cc I'll recommend you can use 10W40 or 5W40 if you really want to use synthetic oil you can see 1 or 2 pages back to see the synthetic oil range available in India.
