the best oil for ur bike would be the 5100 15w50.. excellent performance and yet affordable (400/- ).. the 300v factory line is also excellent, but dries up very quickly...i heard that yamaha has it's own syn stuff - YAMALUBE -
semi syn and syn..ask in ur local showroom

    • Shell Advance SS and FS

      Hey guys.
Has anyone used the Shell Advance Ultra FS or the Shell Advance VX4 SS oil?? Both are 10W40 oils.

How is the perf and the drain interval?

I happened to ask in a Shell Petrol pump about the Ultra. They said it cost 745Rs. Now I know they would'nt cheat but that is expensive isnt it?

Especially with Motul and Agip being cheaper. Hence I want to know if its worth the extra money.

Also when we shift from mineral to SS or FS do we have to change the oil filter?

I had enquired once from the shell petrol pump about the ultra & he quoted me a price of something around 700(I dont remember properly).

From the reviews & my friends the oil is good & working very well in their machines. I cant say if the extra money is worth or not since i myself havent used that oil. BTW the motul isnt cheaper instead it is even costlier (800+). The drain interval of most synthetic oils are around 5000kms.

AFAIK the oil filter of fz is changed in every service. So if you change to any oil they will change the oil filter while servicing your bike.(I am just assuming that you are owning an fz from your profile's avatar)

VEEDOL SUPER SWIFT SEMI SYNTHETIC 10W 40...
Again i dont know about this oil. But yeah its cheap & few xbhp members have a good saying on this oil.
AGIP RACING FULL SYNTHETIC 5W 40...
A very very good oil. Even i am using the same oil & the performance is very good. Smooth engine & better throttle response.

A very good oil. But has an issue of oil level dropping very soon. The most costly of all the given oils.
Comments in bold. I would recommend the agip.

The person is talking about shell ADVANCE ULTRA which is a full synthetic oil by shell for bikes. It costs something around 700 . Shell HELIX ULTRA is meant for cars & costs around 1000.

I have heard that Yamaha has come out with a fully synthetic version of Yamalube priced at ~Rs.630, and some FZ users have already tried it!

No idea about it. Its not available in my nearby SC atleast. But the pricing seems to be very low when compared to other brands.

+1 to that. I'm currently on Agip too and the performance is very very good.
                                Cost me Rs660.
