Small correction ... Castrol POWER 1 is 15w40 oil and not 10w40 oil as few stated above.....I presently use this oil only for my P150 ....
I recommend This oil for HH too (Pranit)...which is decent enough ...

I was in search of a good and cost effective engine oil for our bikes and with the help of a fellow xBhpian I got in touch with Mr Rajiv Ranjan, Marketing Manager, Petronas India. A lot of discussion went through when I asked him for information about their product range, availability and pricing so that I can post the information here for everyone's benefit. Here's some info provided by Mr Rajiv -
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Petronas SPRINTA 5000 Engine Oil Tech Speak
The SPRINTA 5000 engine oil was exclusively developed and manufactured using fully synthetic base oils to meet the most stringent standards. Results from a series of laboratory tests show that the 2T grade exceeds the industry standards of ISO EGD and JASO FC, while the 4T grade exceeds JASO MA and API SJ standards. PDB has also tested the product through a series of endurance tests at the Shah Alam and Catagena circuit in Spain, as well as in actual race conditions at the Pasir Gudang and Bangkok legs of the Asia Road Racing Championship.
Both 2T and 4T grades of SPRINTA 5000 provide complete engine protection for the pistons, crankshaft and cylinder liner against excessive wear and tear. The oil also contains a unique formula that gives immediate protection during engine startup ad reduces engine friction loss. This will provide ultimate power performance and prolong the life span of the engine. Users will not only experience a smooth and powerful ride but could also expect lower maintenance costs of their machines. In addition, the 4T range has properties that ensure high efficiency of the wet clutch performance. It also has excellent resistance towards oil degradation, extending the period between oil change, which in turn translates into cost savings for motorists

Couple of posts back, I said I would be trying the Patronas FS. To be precise, it the Patronas Sprinta 4T 5000 10w40 fully synthetic. To recap, I have used HH 10w30 (Manufacturer recommended oil for Karizma-R), Castrol Activ Mineral, Castrol Power 1 SS, CP1-R FS, Motul 300 V FS. In that order. Most recently I have gone back to Castrol Power 1 more so because it was difficult to source FS oil, especially in w40 grade. Yes, I prefer w40 as against the recommended w30 owing to extreme temperature.
Now, I got my hands on the Patronas FS. Just got back my bike from Service. Has done approx. 19 k. Filled the oil last night. Immediate impression is as predicted. Smooth for both engine & gear. One cannot really conclude oil suitability until it has put on some mileage on it. This is the case with all oil I have used so far. Let me put some mileage on it and I will know how it fares. Might take some time as my office now is so near

Dude i would rather say to refrain from using shell or castrol FS oils. They are not worth that money. Better you use the petronas FS oil or motul.Originally posted by kaynmantis View PostThanks for the tip. Will check them next time. Never been to Shell petrol bunk

Was happy with CP1R as well as Motul 300v but they are hard to come by especially Motul at w40 as mentioned in previous post, hence Petronas. Say if you have used Petronas FS, would love to hear your comment. Could not find much comment about it except one guy who seems pissed off by it. Sure I'll soon find as I'm already using it but I need to put some mileage to comment on it.Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostDude i would rather say to refrain from using shell or castrol FS oils.
