    • Nulon

To all planning to use Nulon in engine oil ...PLEASE DO NOT add Nulon...It will make the clutch plate slip, further Dupont, it's manufacturer had clarified in a civil suit in USA that PTFE(main content of Nulon) is not meant to be used in engine oils and will not give any benefit..and most likely to clog the oil filter(specifically in cars).
      PTFE Engine Protection? or not!

      • Hi,

I usually do long rides, on every weekend, speed : 110-115 kmph and highway riding most of the time, very less city riding. planning to shift from stock oil (10w30) to FS, shortlisted some of them

        1). Motul 5100 10w30
        2). Shell Advance FS 10w40
        3). Mobil 1 10w30
        4). Petronas FS sprinta 5000 10w40
        5). Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w40.
        6). Motul 300V 4T 10w40

may go for motul 5100 10w30, just scared of changing the oil viscosity from the stock one. need suggestion...if it is fine to change the viscosity then may go for Motul 300V 4T 10w40

Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

i guess ur recommended oil grade is xxW30. if yes, then i will personally recommend motul 300V. it lasts more than 5k - 6k. since u do long rides, i guess u need longer lasting oil.

Don't know which specific bike you are referring, but have you tried other oil like Motul 300v, Petronas sprinta 5000, Castrol Power 1 Racing etc. And by castrol, which castrol do you mean, there is a heck of a difference.

What is your fear in changing oil grade ? I have never seen a ceased engine because of an oil change , rather from the lack of it .
10w30 & 10w40 oils have the exact same viscosity . i.e that of the 10 weight base oil .

We keep telling these things , dunno if anyone listens anyway , everyone wants his bike / car to be coated with something with very technical sounding name like teflon or nulon , both from inside and outside , and the businessmen keeps coming out with products people wants ... doesn't matter it works or not , it sells . I think there was this paint ad ( saif ali khan was in it ? ) which says your wall needs a teflon coat , just like your frying pan .

Well buddy it was because of this neolon thing which thanks a ton it costed me 350 rs go down the drain in just 100 km.
Well anyways something is good here well after all this I went to the market with my 5100 15W50 of motul and replaced the oil which I had poured earlier and now she is running awesome dude. What a perfect gear shifts, & smoothness in riding too I can feel it.
Well agreed with one thing dear and i.e. In the earlier engine oil i.e. Moto 4 gold 20W50 by elf I had put neolon and yes in these 100 km what I felt there was no smoothness and also the gear shifts was hard but now I shall be sticking on only and only with motul 5100 15W50 let the be some light but suggest me I should change this oil after 3500 - 4000 or earlier or later.

Stick to w50 grade for the pulsars confirming to JASO MA2 standards....When you buy the oil you should take a drop between your fingers and see how viscous it is by first gently bringing the fingers to-gether,then separating them to feel the oil's viscosity .Check every 600 to 1000Kms for oil color and the viscous quality WHEN it is COLD. When you feel a change it is time to change the oil...but as a thumb rule change every 2,500 to 3,500 Kms depending entirely on your riding style.
A bike running in city traffic undergoes more strain and will need a quicker change of oil.

                              • I'm using castrol power 1 10w30(part synthetic) in cbz xtreme. i need to top up the engine oil, is it safe to top up with Valvoline Champ 4T 10W30(synthetic blend). Will there be any harm as the both engine oils get mixed?
