Good engine oil for father's tvs-suzuki samurai

Hey sirs,i am new to xbhp. my father wants to change the transmission oil of his 2000 make tvs-suzuki samurai bike runned only 16k km in past 11 yrs (as he don't get much time to drive it(but get time to mainain it) as he is in army) and the bike is in excellent condition,everything oem.last time we had filled elf 4t 2 yrs ago and bike had runned only 2k on that oil and the oil is in good condition,then also he wants to change it as he loves his bike more than his brand new hh glamour 2011.
I am confused with the large variety available in the market,and he had also buyed nulon engine treatment for it.please suggest me a good mineral or synthetic oil.the recommended viscosity is 20w40.sorry for any mistake.thanks in advance.

@rxboy, dont use nulon. Just stick to oil, pure oil. If you want more protection use any 20w50 oil.
Elf is a good oil. Motul/gulf is also good (i think better).
Edit: you looking for engine oil or gear oil?

Hi,

either it is bike or car according to the kind of vehicle / make / Type the oil viscosity recommendation differs,

for some cars the recommended range is 5W-30, or 10 W - 30 or 15 W40

in other term it ranges from 0 W to 50

How GTOil fits in to all this different viscosity grade levels ?.

Yes . It means it is working well to keep your engine clean . You can keep running the oil until 1500 kms ( if riding that way ) , or 2000 kms+ if you are kinder to the throttle .
It is not even a specific rpm thing , oil is most stressed by heat , pollution levels, fuel-quality, frequent gear changes , high clutch usage encountered in city stop & go traffic too .

Being it as synthetic or mineral, it is nice to see engine oil turns to black after 500 kms or so on.

the black color change doesn't meant oil gone bad, it shows oil is doing its duty well on collecting bad stuffs inside the engine.

even in my car synthetic engine oil turns to black so sooner.

in other language color change in engine oil is not the way to determine oil is bad or still good.

yes,absolutely like this.a mechanic advised my father to go with gulf pride 4t 20w40,valvoline champ 20w40 or castrol power1 .is the above o.k or i should go for other oil.

Samurai is a 2-Stroke bike and all the above mentioned oils are for use in 4-Stroke bikes.So never use those oils.Go to Two stroke oil section and ask which one to use.

engine oil problem

My problem is i own a pulsar 150 ug3 model and i changed my engine from castrol power to motul 5100 ester 15w 50 , is it suitable for my bike and if suitable then when do i need to drain this oil . please help me.

I believe the original spec for the bike was Servo Super Multigrade 20W40 for transmission oil . For engine-oil (2T premix or pump) Yamalube 2T . You'll need to change the tranny-oil once in an year at least , even if you don't use it much . Avoid the nulon . Spend the money on de-carbonisation , if you so wish .
