.Sorry do not have first hand experience to give you practical answer.
Going forward if anyone mistakenly try the "water in engine" feet, please..please do inform in xbhp about the results.

there are huge chances that the engine would have got damaged. Once the water evaporates the engine would come to a grinding halt & the pistons would get damaged too for lack of lubrication.Originally posted by paulsonaivy View Postwhat if the engine is run 50 to 100 kms,
any damage possible,

Was he/she really ran it for 50 or 100kms without getting the engine stalled

need advice on urgent oil change...
oil experts.. here i am to solve a problem.
my pulsar 180 ug4 is currently runnning in bajaj oil for almost 3500 kms now.
now engine is very bad in all due to this crap thing.
now i like to replace it.recommended grade is 20w50. but 20w50 oil is not available here. so my question is
any harm for using valvoline 20w40 oil just for next 1500 kms? after that i will get 20w50.
its now cold season, so no problem i guess
.
what you guys think?sigpicmy bike is my sign

if you want to get rid of bajaj oil now, then you can use 20w40. But remember dont exceed 4k rpm, Dont ride for more than 10 kms at a single go, & change it as soon as you get 20w50 oil, dont wait for 1k or 1.5k.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postoil experts.. here i am to solve a problem.

You can also try Elf 4t instead of valvoline i find it little thicker than most 20w40.
Btw, mak 20w50 is available at most BP outlets & yamaha svc stocks 15w50 semi-synth oil.
