Re: Helmets
Thanks for the suggestion. But is SMK really worth the price? I've never seen SMK being counted as one of the good ones like MT, THH or HJC.Originally posted by Revminister View PostSMK twister is a good pic in this price range. It costs 4.3k. or you can also go for it's elder brother the glide. Its a modular helmet and is priced at 5.3k

From what I've heard SMK is just an overhyped Indian brand that isn't worth it. Please share you opinion if you've used it and had an actual experience where it saved you or someone you know.

Re: Helmets
To me yes it is worth the price and yes it is made by studds that is why it is counted below international ones. One of my relative from uk bought two smk for himself.Originally posted by theFoa View PostThanks for the suggestion. But is SMK really worth the price? Only smk is present in this range offering pinlock 30 antifog which is entry level sheet but it works.
You can go for mt and others two if u increase your budget but u have to buy pinlock with it that too if the visors has provision for it.
Mt mugello, blade alpha , thunder 3 are good options if not smk. Axor is good but the antifog visor doesn't work.
And i think bell qualifier if u are lucky then should cost around 7k.

Re: Helmets
SMK is VFM... amazing build quality....great comfort and ventilation, gets dual visors, and pinlock comes pre installed. I currently own one and also tried my friends MT mugello.....i felt both of them are equally good. Just remember...in smk go for a size bigger than your usual size.Originally posted by theFoa View PostThanks for the suggestion. But is SMK really worth the price? Re: Helmets
I can feel why you are suggesting one size bigger as mine is s size and it really was ultra snug for a long time but now it is comfy and snug.Originally posted by Revminister View PostSMK is VFM... amazing build quality....great comfort and ventilation, gets dual visors, and pinlock comes pre installed. With a snug fit a visor closed, how much air noise do we get? Because in steebird that I currently use, that's my biggest problem.

Re: Helmets
Air noise is not much of an issue...its fairly quite upto 70kmph...after that you might hear some noise on your left side due to the dual visor switchOriginally posted by theFoa View PostOk so reading your comments I feel like SMK is the best choice for the budget I have. Re: Helmets
Hi All,
My Helmet is now 2 yr 9 months old. Should I get a new helmet now?
Its an SOL Metalman helmet.
Although it has never fallen on hard surface like road or ceramic floor I recently discovered a scratch on it.
This scratch seems to have removed a bit of lamination and its about a fingernail in size.
Below is a photo of my helmet when it was new.

You saying it has never fallen and still looks new as before. Is there any loosening of parts? Do you feel helmet heavy? Is the cushioning got loosened? If nothing like this, then don't waste money on new helmet.
My SOL unicorn is not 4 y.o. and still going. [emoji1308]
You can get new cheek pads if old ones got loosened."The Answer, My Friend,

I've done about 12000 Kms riding with this helmet if that gives an idea.Originally posted by saorabbh View PostYou saying it has never fallen and still looks new as before. The cheek pads are not loose but yes the helmet has always been heavy. Especially when I ride my bike.
On the scooty I have no issues.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)
