  • Re: Helmets

I have been using Airoh helmet and Bell helmet found that their is not so much difference in Quality and Performance and Durability. Price can be high but when it comes to safety I don't feel anyone should go for less quality because helmet is very important part of riding life. Many people just love riding and roam all the world. I think for this people should choose a helmet that actually gives them proper safety. Though this is my opinion and would like to know other people's opinion on this.

    Thanks

Yeah i have always wondered why people go for a low quality(not saying they are unsafe) helmet when your brain is involved, considering many people buy mobiles costing more than 20-30k i am sure you can afford a better lid. If you have budget restraints just buy a lower priced mobile and spend the saved money on a helmet. Although, I would like to add that higher price of a helmet doesn't always mean it is safer overall.

Recently seeing a lot of Bilmola Helmets.
        Anyone using it?
        Personal review?

Looking for a daily helmet from a long time but need something that would suffice to replace my AGV & HJC.
Have given big thoughts to SMK, MT and even bought an Axor, But after using it for a day, I can now say I cannot.

Why Bilmola? The shape & graphics is to my liking.
Also priced decently at around 7k.

Stretch your budget if possible and buy HJC FG-17 or Scorpion exo helmet (I forgot the exact model).

Would go for Scorpion any specific model ? only concern about weight and wind noise so asked about mt rapide it weighs about 1300 +- .

Scorpion Exo 710. It is a Snell certified helmet. Price starts from 15k.
Same goes for HJC FG-17, it is also a Snell certified helmet. Price same as exo 710. Don't buy mt helmet at that range as there quality is not upto mark.

                    Any thoughts on this helmet?
O'Neal Racing Crossfire Full Face Helmet(100% fiberglass construction, Air cooling vent system, Removable & Washable Airnet Gauze and Savior Suede padded liner w/ anti-allergenic materials that wick away perspiration, Scratch resistant Visor featuring "no tools required" removable system, Exceeds SNELL 2000 and D.O.T. (US), ECE 22/04 (Europe) and AS (Australia) safety standards)
In India now their are lots of helmet brands available. For me LS2 and MT helmets are best in your price range.
They both have good safety certifications , they are aerodynamic and they both provide pinlock for visors .
You must Custom Elements, they have a variety of helmets starting from 4k ( https://www.customelements.in/produc...?orderby=price )
I will suggest you to go with these two only , they are also very comfortable with good fit and their products have a good airflow inlet and outlet.

3 stars on Sharp test. Very good for a helmet with internal sunvisor IMHO.

This is a Spada RP one, sold as SMK Twister in the Indian market. This is manufactured for Spada by Studds in India.

Basically Spada rp one and SMK Twister are same helmets.

Hope this helps someone. Comes from my own site search and work.

Studds making it means people would still rank it below other fancy brands. Seen this mentally personally. It has to be a fancy brand name attached to it to make it worth their time and money.

I might go with the SMK Twister then. I simply cannot afford to change another helmet for the next 7 years in case of shortage of spares. Maybe I can afford MT helmets in 2028
I own the SMK Twister with the built in Bluetooth system. The helmet is phenomenal VFM. There are better Bluetooth systems though. It has now Sharp ratings as well. It is a solid helmet for the price that it comes for.

I have two helmets SMK Twister and MT Atom Divergence which I have been using for three years and one year respectively. During online research I stumbled across Bennett's UK reviews of both the helmets. I find them to be absolutely accurate in terms of analysis of smaller details.
I am sharing a link of the Spada RP One helmet review which is a rebranded SMK Twister. Hope it helps your cause and gives a good understanding of the real value of this Indian built helmet.

Excellent work sir. This was the only thing that was missing as far as Twister was concerned..

Sir,how did you find out both are the same? I had always wondered why smks were not tested by sharp even though they seem to be selling in UK. I had even requested the site for testing of SMK through the request option in their site. I find SMK helmets to be trustworthy in their ece certifications as all the shells are made in a single location and there is no huge price disparity for same models across different countries and the model name and model range across countries seems to be same, unlike some 'other' brands sold here.

If you see the Spada RP1 very carefully, you will see SMK written on the chin curtain and the breath deflector vent.
Also some internals have SMK etched on them from what I have known.
