3 stars on Sharp test. Very good for a helmet with internal sunvisor IMHO.

This is a Spada RP one, sold as SMK Twister in the Indian market. This is manufactured for Spada by Studds in India.

Basically Spada rp one and SMK Twister are same helmets.

I own the SMK Twister with the built in Bluetooth system. The helmet is phenomenal VFM. There are better Bluetooth systems though. It has now Sharp ratings as well. It is a solid helmet for the price that it comes for.

I have two helmets SMK Twister and MT Atom Divergence which I have been using for three years and one year respectively. During online research I stumbled across Bennett's UK reviews of both the helmets. I find them to be absolutely accurate in terms of analysis of smaller details.
I am sharing a link of the Spada RP One helmet review which is a rebranded SMK Twister. Hope it helps your cause and gives a good understanding of the real value of this Indian built helmet.

What good is knowledge and experience if not shared in time with those who will benefit the most from it. All of us motorcycling enthusiasts go through this cycle in our growth as motorcyclists. Here is my journey beyond Twister.

Having used Twister for two years I felt the need for a good modular helmet for use during touring especially in our hot and humid climate. My dream modular remains Shoei Neotec 2 but then practical constraints of budget always apply. So I researched a bit and found MT Atom series to be a good alternative. I personally like high visibility flourescent colours for reasons of safety. That is when I came across MT Atom Divergence series on MT Europe website. I tried to find if the Flourescent Orange colour was available in India. The Indian importers for MT Helmets M/s Spartanprogear indicated that this particular model is not available as they do not import it. Hence I requested a colleague of mine who went to Spain to pick up one for me. Sizing and trials had already been done by me on the MT Atom helmets here in India at Spartanprogear outlets. So I was very clear on the size fit and other aspects. It is not the very best out there but it suits my requirements including budget. Sharing a link of what I have... Hope it helps you

Interesting development. May promote production of helmets by reputed foreign companies in India. But what happens to those of us who already have non ISI imported helmets. Also will brands like AGV, Arai, Shoei, Schuberth go in for ISI certification....

The move to remove the maximum weight cap on helmets is certainly welcome but my understanding is that all helmets sold in India will need to comply with ISI standards. This means that all the imported helmets sold after a certain point will also need to be ISI certified in order to be legal in India.

Before the 1.2 KG weight restriction was added it wasn't particularly difficult for these companies to get their helmets ISI certified (I understand that it is more of a self certification anyway). My guess is that it impacts their bottom line so they never bothered with it (except LS2 I think which had 2 ISI certified models).

I think companies that have budget friendly models like LS2, MT, etc will probably get the ISI certification since they have decent volumes. Whether Arai, Shoei and others (whose volumes are lower in India) bother with the ISI certification would be interesting to see. I hope they do.

Anyone know the difference between the MT variants. I would mostly be using it for daily commute. Once in a while, might use it for a long ride of 2 or 3 hours

All helmets will make certain amount of noise and this is caused by visors, vents and in general some design elements of the helmet. There is no helmet that is super quiet. If at all there were one like the Schuberths which is the gold standard in quiet helmets the ventilation would be sub optimal which is not best suited for our hot and humid conditions.
Here is what I recommend. Go for the helmet which has the best safety rating amongst all those that are in your budget. Also look for the best ventilating one that has maximum number of vents. Plz try out the helmet physically before buying. Spend some time wearing it in the shop.

And as far as quiet riding experience is concerned plz use earplugs. This is the best solution. Everything else would be a compromise.

Targo would be the best choice here and make sure to buy a snug fit one not the comfort fit. And all helmets have wind noise some more and some less.
Buy the one with good padding and proper snug fit you will feel less wind noise.
Use earplugs normal foam type 3m plugs also works , I am using same in my smk.

Have you considered SMK, Axor and Bilmola ? I would recommend SMK as it’s manufactured in India and also exported to foreign countries. SMK is ECE too just like MT. So it is as safe.

I would recommend Scorpion or Lazer (they have an Asia collection which is there by the Indian importer). These options are expensive than the MT, but if it’s a long term usage, it’s like an investment.

Hi i went for the FlyRacing Revolt F-S which is a Snell Certified helmet, got it for 140$ which is less than 10k but it costs 13500/- in India i have posted a short first impression on Tbhp.

I am happy with my purchase but it is a bit noisier, I use earplugs now. Good thing is you don’t sweat as much.

Hi everyone, I have shortlisted the following helmets as my next purchase. Budget is 5K. Requirement is Dual visor and Pinlock.
SMK Twister(Pinlock pre-fitted but the sun visor's positioning is awkward)
Axor Apex(Pinlock needs to be purchased separately)
Shiro SH881(No sun visor)

Issue is that none of the helmets are ISI certified although all of those have certifications which are much above ISI benchmark. But, due to some strange logic in India, non-ISI helmets are illegal - ECE/DOT certifications do not matter. So, if they cops are out there to make some quick bucks, I will be a sitting duck!
Can anyone advise whether I can legally wear a helmet which has international certifications - without worrying about fines. In that case, I have no other option but to look for lesser priced and inferior alternatives.
