And no I am not as stupid as I look, the shipping was shared with a new Airborne Jacket, a pair of glove as well!

great looking helmet!!!! how much did you pay for shipping and custom duties. when i searched the net i found out that the duties amounts to around 175 to 200 rupees (a rough calculation of all taxes) per thousand rupees worth of the item that we have shipped. ie if we buy a helmet for 5000 rupees we end up paying somewhere close to 1000 rupees in duties. is it true? elsewhere someone told about a flat duty rate of 37.5 % of the cost of the item, but on searching i found out that it is for excess baggage above the specified rs 25,000 cap.i doubt it will be applied on the shipped items. however somewhere on this thread a member who bought a rossi replica lid had to dish out 12,800 as custom duties, now that sets me thinking .the highest price for that replica helmet was $600 which should be somewhere around 30k INR. according to the rates of taxes given on the custom website the duty should be around 6000 INR ,then how come he had to pay 12,800. iam totally confused. Iam planning to do some serious shopping online and now iam scared of the duties. kindly guide me into this.can you please quote the exact amount you paid for the item, shippingduties seperately in INR so that it can give me an idea about what to expect . Indian custom rules are very complicated.dont know how they calculate all these duties. or Am I missing something?? hopeyou would help.

          • @satyen: I'm after this helmet since a long time....just some questions..

what size are you using and you ordered according to the sizing chart?

you got the plain visor as well?

and is the layer (finishing, where the yellow radiation is drawn) matt type(i mean a rubber kind of )?
and finally some more photographs please
            its all about CC...

PS: I havent included Shipping charges in the the above calculation. Rest assured shipping would itself be a reasonable chunk. IMO its better to consolidate your stuff and then ship in one shot!

For a rough calculation, the SHOEI I highligthed was 189USD and came out to be about 325USD in total (shipping+duties+tax).. so figure out...

              1) I am using M, which should be about 53cms... I check the AGV chart and figured how many cms it meant and compared them with my other lid and then finally came down to this conclusion of M being okay! (and luckily M was in stock for closeout!)
The entire helmet is Matte finish.... but the finish is much better than the cross mattes!
              2) I got the plain visor, and ordered a Yellow and a Blue visor!
